Does anybody know how many coaches we will be taking to old Trafford?

I would imagine that as long as demand for coach seats is maintained then the club will keep booking them,

I read that we'd filled seven, that was on Friday though so presume it'll be more now

When I went for my ticket on Saturday I overheard that they're planning for 20 coaches and they were on number eight.

If I remember rightly, when we played Man It's in the 80's I think we took 62 coaches!

No trams, and fewer options for a good piss up in Manchester then

There are trams, there is work between Deansgate and Castlefiefield, on the Airport line, but that should not be a major issue, because it should not affect trams to Old Trafford that night.

In that I think the Airport line is totally different to the Old Trafford line.

If the game doesn't finish until 10.00pm (or later if penalties are needed!) what time is the last tram back to Rochdale though?

Hopefully the link below works.
Last one to Rochdale from Trafford Bar is 23.29

Trains run from Victoria till 23:32. Plenty of time to walk back from OT if absolutely necessary.

Last tram / train is fine if u haven’t got young ones going to school next day though...

Have been to Gold Trafford, horrendous queues for both

If the game finishes at 9.55 there is plenty of time to get trains/trams home. There isn’t going to be many more than 50’000 people there, the transport system copes with 70’000 normally. Even if you drove there you ain’t getting home till gone 11, I’m sure kids will cope with 1 late night

I live in Manchester and about a mile from Old Trafford - and can tell you that the roadworks have been pretty nasty in the past few months (even at night)

I'll bet there's little difference in getting the coach or using public transport.

If you're not fussed about a leisurely stroll then just walk to Victoria Station and get the train, it's practically a straight road from Bridgewater Way to Chester Road and onto Deansgate

The tram back to Rochdale is horrendous.

Go to Victoria and get the train, its about 15 mins, compared to 45 mins on the tram.

What time do the coaches leave? I am going to be hard pushed to leave Rochdale until 5.45/6 so if I can't get the coach I'm going to be able to drive and get there in time.

If you're able to get into Manchester city centre for say, 6.30pm, might be better to park up and get the tram. Parking fees in the city centre won't be any more than near the ground - almost certainly less if you used Total Car Parks next to the Travelodge Manchester Central Arena, 5 minute walk to Victoria. The advantage of Victoria is people not going to the match will always be getting off the tram there, so should be space on every one

That should get you to the Old Trafford tram stop by 7pm

Getting back might be a different matter, unless (as has already been posted) you can do the walk into the centre

alternatives are drive to timperley, sale or stretford, lots of free street parking around and get tram from there. I have done that for premier league games no trouble and attendence will probably be less than for those games.

There's a car park(NCP?) next to Media City literally over the bridge from the ground where I've parked any time I've been, thats also comes from a season ticket holder who uses it every home game, it's near to the Costa coffee and a decent boozer on the Quays, and a decent stroll after the game and seems to empty pretty quick following the game too, don't remember it being too extortionate either
