WE KNOW BETTER THAN YOU - YOUR 1.4 MILLION MAJORITY VOTES DO NOT COUNT? on 11:44 - Sep 8 with 661 viewsDorsetIan

Being kind was not my intention.

Poll: Should we try to replace Selles for the final seven games?

Marcus, I know that you struggle with percentages but you do need try a little harder.

The post I was replying to suggested that a 'majority' of leave voters 'just wanted to leave, end of'.

Leave votes comprised 52% - so what would a 'majority' of them equate to? More than half, no? Half of 52% = £26%. Therefore more than half = 27%.

And, no, a 'majority' of 48% would be 25% not 23%- i.e. slightly more (not less) than half (24%).

I hope that's helpful.

I actually would have accepted Theresa May's deal as better than nothing but guess what Labour (and few others) voted against it. I don't want a no deal but the deal we did have was voted down. This is the only reason no deal has arrived on the scene and is the only option if other deals are voted down. It has been said that her deal was more like what was promised. So why was that voted down too?? Parliament upholding democracy?? They now vote against no deal. They don't want a deal, they don't want no deal. So basically they want to ignore the referendum vote completely. You don't think it's dangerous to completely ignore it?

What is your suggestion for a way out of this then? A general election is the only way out now and we will see for sure what the people / leavers want, not randomly created percentages.
Again, Labour say no.

And, plus you make statements about my views on who I should be able to vote and who shouldn't and that I go to the pub and talk to my pub mates. You know nothing about me. I have a family, I very rarely go to the pub and I certainly don't think people should be able to vote if they are of unfit mind or if they are a child - absolute rubbish. I am not prejudiced - I have a wide variety of friends and welcome the friends of my children in to my house regardless of where they are from or who they are. So making rash statements are not making your argument any better as they come across as a little desperate. Win an argument with facts, not making up (prejudiced) assumptions about my life because I voted leave. I want immigration controlled, not stopped completely. You know, like we control how many people enter St Mary's on a match day. We don't just have uncontrolled access to St Mary's free for all.

I said that lying is beside the point because otherwise, whenever a government is elected we would be having another election every few months as they all lie don't they. Show me a government that has completely told the truth and carried out everything they said they would.

You have an election / referendum and that's that - they then all go against some of their promises. You can't keep having elections every few months because they lie. They lie because they get into power and circumstances change.

On another note, if Corbyn is so fantastic, why has he not been able to win an election amongst all this mess? The latest polls still show the Tories in the lead?

Marcus, I have said before that you are the dimmest of the dim on here and I do look forward to the day when you say something that makes any kind of sense.

The fact you cannot see the point I am making rather proves it is you who is the dim one.

It is impossible for anyone to 'see' the points that you are making, as you are completely incapable of articulating them.

I say that a 'majority' of 52% is 27%. This is a mathematical fact. You then post something which is somehow against that but makes no sense. I then explain what I wrote and you say that I am missing the point.

What EXACTLY is your point? I am not a mindreader. Are you capable of explaining it?

The bottom line is that the public voted to leave and traitor MP’s are trying to overturn a democratic vote.

That was years ago, people have a right to change their mind.. The reason Brexiters don't want another referendum on the facts is because they know they will lose, knowing what we know now.

It was years ago because traitor MP’s have never accepted the will of the people and got on with it.

You’ve done the ‚deal with it‘ one and now the ‚traitors‘ one. Can you try to squeeze in ‚surrender bill‘ before the night is out.

And what have you done with Marcus? Is he still scratching his head about those tricky percentages?

It’s coming, the public are with Boris. It’s the people versus parliament. The gap between the Tories and Labour is widening as everyone can see that Corbyn is trying to overrule the will of the people.

Irrelevant - another referendum wouldn't be accepted by Labour and the Lib Dems and the Greens have officially stated as such.

A 52/48 leave win should have meant we left the EU, but joined the EEA or EFTA and stayed in the customs union so we are aligned with the Republic of Ireland and kept a free porous and peaceful border... The government would have fulfilled the promise of leaving the EU but not trashed the country (and Ireland) as they appear to be willing to do now.

Anyway, with regards to your away game on the 24th... Why don't you just get an early train, get off at Portsmouth Harbour and have pre-match drinks around the nicer pubs in Old Portsmouth then get a cab to Fratton? Just travel incognito - anyone over 18 should never go to football in colours anyway ffs.
