Well, the last time we played against him, he spent most of the game explaining the rules to the referee, so I guess he's perfectly qualified.

He wants to be nearer to several of his mistresses and prostitutes

He wants losing in a play off final to be on his CV. May get the Man United job then if Lampard can get the Chelsea job on the basis of one season.

If they don't get promoted, having already sold their ground, where exactly do Derby seeing this nonsense ending?

£150 million income versus a 9 point deduction.

Some clubs will think it's worth it.

Yeh, that nonsense Birmingham punishment doesn't act as much deterrent does it?

Rooney to derby on 09:47 - Aug 6 with 7458 viewsCamberleyR

I've said it before on here and I'll say it again, any points deduction for breaking the P&S/FFP rules has got to be 20 points minimum to mean anything and probably go up on a sliding scale if they've really taken the piss.

A 20 point deduction would have relegated anyone from Stoke (15th) downwards and would have had everyone else from Blackburn (14th) to Brentford (11th) nervously sweating.

Poll: Which is the worst QPR team?

It would seem the opposite. Derby seem to be totally ignoring it.

Are Derby breaking the rules though?

Interesting tweet from Daniel Storey (a journalist who I respect and a big Forest fan...)

Having sold their stadium last season to circumvent FFP issues, Derby County will sign Wayne Rooney as a player-coach so his significant salary can sit outside FFP calculations. I'm not mad, I'm impressed.

It's worth reading these through not just for the stadium lease but the company structure shenanigans, the amortisation tweak... also:

Jacob Butterfield, Nick Blackman and Bradley Johnson are in the list of first-team squad players under contract.

The trio signed 12-month extensions to their contracts earlier this season on vastly reduced terms compared to what they were on in the previous years, DerbyshireLive understands.

The deals were done by the club, it is believed, to try to protect the value of the players.

It is highly likely Blackman and Butterfield will be released next month and will not return to the club for pre-season. Neither player featured for Derby this season.

Yes apparently the league rule is if you have a player coach, 50% of his wage counts towards FFP and 50% doesn't.

I thought it was only youth coaches who were exempt. Does this mean that managers salaries don't count? Assistant managers?

The staff at bubbles spa opposite Derby station are delighted so I'm told!

FFP is a total joke. If the clubs had any minerals they’d collectively go for the FL. There’s going to be a break-away.

Poll: Season tickets - who’s renewing?

Rooney to derby on 10:44 - Aug 6 with 7239 viewsNorthernr

Well I don't really see what's to stop us making Cameron and Rangel player coaches, and having 50% of their wage not counted.

Or anybody for that matter. Amos was helping the coaches set up the drill last week, take 50% of his wage off.

Derby are undermining the rules to the point where there's no point in having them, which maybe is exactly what they're going for.

Some talk this only applies to L1 & L2 clubs.

Not a problem though....

I want to see everyone doing this.

Mitrovic - Bib distributor
Cairney - cone layer-outer
Johansen - putting the nets up
Bryan - Throw-in specialist etc

Fair play to Derby for absolutely taking the pi ss. Mel Morrison is the Championship’s Captain Ahab. A man obsessed.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

Rooney to derby on 11:16 - Aug 6 with 7114 viewsDejR_vu

We’ll end up being the club who were hit with a world record fine that afflicts us for 10 years, who did everything to then comply, whilst others took the p1ss and got away with it.

The whole thing has been farcical from the start, concocted and implemented by clowns. The entire football industry is populated by complete idiots. In any other industry, where there is any level of accountability, they wouldn’t last five minutes.

They think they are being so clever but it will come back to haunt them.
By the way what does Collen see in multi millionaire Wayne Rooney?

Rooney to derby on 12:07 - Aug 6 with 7012 viewsGetMeRangers

This can be only a ruse to get him in as a player. I can't imagine anyone putting his name forward as someone who has the potential to be a first team coach. Or even for the U11s. Far too many other obvious candidates if you were looking to get a rookie coach, with potential, who could also be a play
Just relieved it isn't QPR for a change and Villa, Forest and Derby all to keen to step up to challenge for badly managed clubs
0

Rooney to derby on 12:14 - Aug 6 with 6969 viewsstevec

To be fair, the fact they're finding ways to work round the rules suggests they are considerably better managed than we were.

Villa have already circumnavigated around the issue by getting themselves promoted, Derby seem to be finding new ingenious ways to circumnavigate whether promoted or not.
1

Rooney to derby on 12:58 - Aug 6 with 6845 viewsGetMeRangers

I may be wrong but thought the rules we feel foul of lasted one season before being changed
But in all honesty, i would be aghast if we were trying to get around the rules, as I am far happier that the club is being run more sensibly now, with the caveat that it doesn't go aa badly wrong as the 'fritting away' years. Would be far happier seeing the lub sustainable even if that comes with rare or no appearances in the premier. That doesn't sound very ambitious, given our recent history, it is quite a tall order IMO

What does Rooney see in the attractive Colleen?
Lovely line from Aherne, but the truth is it works both ways.

Bare bones.
