The Dyfatty flats. My uncle was the first caretaker in one of the blocks. Vaguely remember as a kid going up in the brand new lift. He then moved on to be caretaker in Port Tennant school. Lived next to the school. Could watch the Cork ferry from the front bedroom. Happy days. | |

The problem is that it is a listed building and is falling apart. Ideally both that the Elysium Building and the Palace building up the street be knocked down and replaced but because of their listed building statement this isnt allowed to happen and nobody is prepared to take on the massive rebuilding cost of keeping it as a listed building. It is a catch 22 situation that could be resolved it the Assembly decided to spend money on Swansea in the same way they do in Cardiff | | | |
