So what happened at the morfa today? 15:27 - Jul 10 with 3768 viewsJimmyGilligan

Seems a bit of an extreme response for a single person having a 'medical emergency'

Three rapid response vehicles, one emergency ambulance, air ambulance, fire and police blocking off roads

The missus was down there today, and talking to someone who works in Morfa. Apparently there was an incident in one of the shops, where someone had fallen from the first floor, the result was a bit messy. Just what she'd heard, so cant verify.

Must have been a slow day for them to send a small army for that

Not as bad as first reported by the looks of it, thank goodness.
Hope the gentleman is ok, and has a speedy recovery.

Yet, we are told the emergency services are stretched to the limit.

Darran is more obsessed with other people’s sexuality than Anne Widdecombe.

The rapid response vehicles attend to provide initial response and casualty assessment, it also ensures the Ambulance service hit the target time. The vehicles are invariably single crewed and you normally need at least 2 people to start treating a casualty. The helicopters usually attend to more serious casualties, but they can be used as a response to less serious calls if there are no ambulances available. They sometimes carry doctors who specialise in trauma treatment.

Our NHS is under huge pressure and they don’t always get it right, but they get more right than they get wrong and the air ambulance is a fantastic piece of kit and invaluable in the more rural areas.

The first responders are there to "stop the clock", but of course the paramedic on board is first class and would be quickly joined by colleagues in an ambulance.
