JM was delighted to bring home three points. Sacking came as a bit of a shock. Outside of the game KH is a great guy and has sent some compassionate texts now that he is out of the hot seat (not sure what he meant by that). Both have known him a long time. Especially difficult for those who had known him a long time to watch him leave as he had always done his best for the club and his intentions were always the best for the club and the players. We want to be as diplomatic as possible towards BBM and fully believe he is the right man for the job without being disrespectful towards KH who we think so much of. IH says you always get a spike of energy when a new man comes in with new ideas and requirements. Players have tried to train at a tempo and focus on the game at the weekend. Pleased for Kgosi who has been out of the loop a bit and Inman and Rathbone, who have all stepped in and done well for the team. The camaraderie at the end is part of enjoying football, which is important as you are a long time retired. We have to do the same for the Oxford game and the rest of the season. JM was pleased with the performance of the back three, the wingbacks, the defensive midfielders and the keeper. Tried to get the younger players to do as much of the work as possible. Joked that he was now a known marksman in the division and was pleased to get the winner. Good opportunity this week to learn how we won the game as it easier to review and acknowledge your errors when you have got the three points. Still got a lot to go over on the training ground from the video of the game because Shrewsbury deserved to score - a good warning shot for us as we should not have to do so much emergency defending. Need to get more control of games by learning why we give it away to other teams. Last 30 seconds was carnage - no idea how the goal did not go in but was very important after not winning for a while. Can often be lunacy to get a win after struggling for a while. IH thinks the team have done well in the circumstances. Got to go into the Oxford game with huge confidence and belief. Then he finished by talking a bit about becoming a father which he never thought would happen. He was in hospital until the Thursday night before the Luton game before joining up with the team on the Friday. Not been that consistent with my pronouns but hopefully you get the idea.
