And we still don’t need a forward...

Cardiff wanted it more than us today

A season low. Can’t blame the players as the vast majority are playing a league above their ability. We can only blame Gao and Kat for not adequately funding the club. Not strengthening in January was insane and pure greed to gamble on the youth team and Long.

Relegation now is surely nailed on.

A lot of you on here have changed your tune (again)
Trust the club, trust the manager & stop being so negative, that's what people have told me on here.
Bottom line, we're shit all over the park apart from one or two players.

Behave you melt....as documented on several threads, it’s got nothing to do with the manager, the board have yet gain failed to deliver and as such we wil struggle for the remainder of the season, new manager bounce has gone and it’s time to dig in.

Astonishing
So slow no movement
PEH played well as did Valery
How did Charlie miss?
Why didn’t stephens play that ball over the top
So many basics it’s truly shocking
They were awful
And we got beat

It’ll take a hole deeper than that to save us, after the window we were always going to be an injury or suspension away from being in the sh1te, we could all see it less the board.

You know it's a long, hard slog-of-a-season when Cardiff manage to do the double over you.

You also know you're fooked when you see Elyounoussi jogging onto the pitch. Zero goals this season ; zero assists.

If Burnley manage to get anything at Brighton in the late game - we're back in the bottom three tonight... exactly where we deserve to be. I really feel for Ralph. He seems a very good manager & a really nice bloke... but the board have shít on him by not backing him in January and have left him to try and work miracles with a mediocre squad - the majority of which are either too young & inexperienced or Championship standard at best.

Just seen Ralph's post-match interview on the BBC. He is livid and looks like he's just vented his spleen to the players in the dressing room.

Who dived in on the Cardiff player running away from our end towards the touchline ? It was criminal and led to their goal from the free kick. Absolute shocker.

We are definitely in the brown stuff. In the next 4 games man.u and arsenal away as well as spurs. If we don't beat Fulham in the other then it's pretty much championship unless the miraculous happens.

So gutted after saints equalised today. So many opportunities to keep the point and defensive cockups too numerous and painful to go into. Would have been better not equalizing as we all know it's the hope that kills.

I have seen so much comedy defending from Saints this season it's untrue. If I didn't love this club the way I do - I would be pissing my pants laughing at most of it!

I totally agree with your first paragraph. The top six teams in the Championship would probably beat the team we fielded today. I'd happily swap both Long and Austin for any one out of Jay Rodriguez, Che Adams and Neal Maupay and as for Tammy Abraham, we can only dream of getting a striker that fit and that good to come here on loan.

But I think we still have a fair chance of staying up. We really have to beat Fulham now though and hope that Ings will be fit enough to come back and score a few goals.

For the first time today, I think Ralf got his team and his tactics wrong.
Prior to the game, he said he was ok with our scoring and it was the clean sheets that needed working on.

Today we had too many defensively minded players (perhaps to keep that clean sheet), hence the lack of drive and urgency throughout. We seemed to have instructions to pass to Romeu at every opportunity and he is too slow and rarely goes forward - hence the pedestrian, on the back foot display. Same old. No tempo and people scared to shoot - or pass when they should shoot or shoot when they should pass.

Cardiff really were there for the taking today and offered absolutely nothing until the last 15 mins, content to waste as much time as possible from the off. They were definitely the worst team to come to St Mary's this season and we still dropped to their level. The bottom line is they have done the DOUBLE over us, as we dropped to their level and allowed them into the game. Vest has given them TWO goals and Stephens errors have now cost us twice in a week.

We haven't learnt from not only playing at home since Koeman left, but the fact we are too keen to rely on kids and Championship standard players once our crown jewels have been sold off, or high earners shipped out to save a few quid.

Oh well, off to Tenerife or wherever it is they are going, to prepare for the easy game away to Arsenal :-)

I wasn't berating the manager, I was merely getting at you can't score goals when you're relying on Long shiit, Austin slow & past it at 29 and Gallagher who has never been more than league 1.
Our defence, Stephen's played better today but is still rubbish, we need centre backs really bad so we can ditch Maya, Stephen's and Vestergaurd. Even our midfield looks weak JWP could've been sent off in the first half, Romeou makes to many mistakes.
Gunn is better than McCarthy but doesn't get picked.
Because I can see this along with the fact that Krueger lied to us about signings and you can't makes me a melt, whatever that is. Well then I'm happy to be a melt rather than a deluded follower who just believes the party line.

We should have had another minutes silence at the end of that game - for our performance. It warranted one...

We also have to hope Cardiff don’t beat Watford and Everton in their next two home games.

If they win both of those we’re in deep trouble.

To be fair - we've been in trouble all season. Ralph is doing his utmost to drag us out of the mire & work with what he's got - but I think it's going to be a carbon copy of last season and go down to the last 2 or 3 games before we know who's a gonna with Huddersfield & Fulham.
