QPR could leave H&F on 19:33 - Feb 6 with 3070 views | barbicanranger | This all sounds very typical QPR. Spurs get a huge, vast new stadium. Arsenal get a huge, vast new stadium in densely populated area. West Ham get a huge vacuum bowl for the cost of a two bed. Brentford crow bar a new stadium in to train tracks. Even more relevant Chelsea get planning permission for a monstrosity in a densely populated, high-end area. QPR want to take a piece of wasting council land, improve it, maintain the community facility, build a modest size stadium and use it's current site, which it owns to finance it. Sounds simple yet cause it's us it's impossible.
QPR could leave H&F on 19:35 - Feb 6 with 3057 views | bosh67 | I think we should go all out and get the development made in Batman Close. Purely so it can be called the Dana Dana Dana Dana Dana Dana Dana Dana Batman Stadium.

QPR could leave H&F on 19:43 - Feb 6 with 3017 views | stevec | Against QPR development; H & F (labour) London Mayor (Labour) Then they cover their tracks by saying they want QPR supporters on the board, what the hell difference are any of us going to make? It’s a wonder they haven’t cited a lack of ethnic diversity in QPR supporters, but I dare say they’re holding that one back in reserve. On your wider point, perhaps ask those working class who elect a mayor and then find he’s taxing their cars out of existence. Only the rich are welcome in the Congestion zone don’t ya know. Labour promise to tax the rich but ALWAYS end up clobbering the poor. The public may not prefer the Tories but they’re fast waking up to the con trick that is the Labour Party.
QPR could leave H&F on 20:46 - Feb 6 with 2887 views | colinallcars | Didn't Denis Healey say he'd squeeze the rich till the pips squeak, and that there would be howls of anguish from the 80,000 that paid 75% tax on the last slice of their income ?

QPR could leave H&F on 21:28 - Feb 6 with 2802 views | BrianMcCarthy | I was in the car earlier and switched on the podcast and I knew, just knew, when Fernandes was back from the dead that there was trouble on the way, especially when he failed to clearly answer a simple question like "who's in control now?" And this is the outcome. How in the name of Christ is this going to help us? Not a bit surprised with him, but extremely disappointed that the podcast gave airwaves to a man who damages our club every ingle time he opens his mouth.

QPR could leave H&F on 21:33 - Feb 6 with 2790 views | PunteR | It just means i can drive around the suburbs poisoning the air. I bet over half the people working in London could actually do the same job from the comfort of their own sofa at home. Completely irrelevant to the topic . [Post edited 6 Feb 2019 21:38]

QPR could leave H&F on 21:55 - Feb 6 with 2724 views | QPR_Jim | At least he's consistent, you've got to give him that. It does seem H&F are playing hardball with us, they let a community group produce a report on the LC Stadium site giving us no recognition for our community work or what we could offer but as soon as we publish one we've commissioned to champion what we contribute to the community the council release statements about it condemning us. Having said that arguing about it on twitter doesn't help, we should be showing the council the way to deal with it and trying to come up with a solution that they'd be hard pushed to argue would not be beneficial to the community.

QPR could leave H&F on 03:03 - Feb 7 with 2401 views | Benny_the_Ball | Wouldn't bother me as long as we remain in West London. The London Borough of Ealing have stuck by QPR through the Warren Farm debacle. H&F couldn't care less about QPR, particularly as there are 2 other teams in the borough.
QPR could leave H&F on 03:05 - Feb 7 with 2400 views | Benny_the_Ball | Who in their right mind would want to pay through the nose for 'luxury' flats by White City Estate? Besides any new development has to set aside 40% for social housing.
QPR could leave H&F on 04:36 - Feb 7 with 2387 views | Dixie_CT | Argh! How do you undo a down vote? Sorry Brian! As for the topic, this now feels less about the facts & content and more about pride & ego. Stakes are being upped from both sides in terms of aggressive comments. In my experience playing ‘who blinks first’ is rarely conducive to rational, objective and progressive dialogue. Strap yourselves in, this could run longer than nine complete re-runs of the BBC epic, Eldorado.
QPR could leave H&F on 06:59 - Feb 7 with 2327 views | timcocking | The situation appears to be getting even worse. This is sh!tty, it's all a big concern and the last thing we need right now. QPR could leave H&F on 07:51 - Feb 7 with 2272 views | BazzaInTheLoft | “We think this is a crunch point for QPR. We call on the owners to put the club and its fans first and consider an FC Barcelona-style fan ownership. We love QPR but don’t see it as our business to help QPR’s owners engage in property speculation” This has given me the horn.
QPR could leave H&F on 08:06 - Feb 7 with 2241 views | Konk | I think the council genuinely want to retain 3 clubs in the borough, hence they've generally supported Fulham and Chelsea with redevelopment plans. When I've been to meetings over the years, H&F have always made a big point of saying they will do what they can to keep all 3 clubs in H&F. Without getting too political, most (all?) Local authorities are in an impossible situation at the moment re services and funding, so I wouldn't blame any council for trying to extract the maximum value it can for whatever assets it decides it can sell-off. They can assist with identifying land, supporting planning consent etc, but I wouldn't expect them to bend over backwards to assist Fernandes and co when it comes to the finances. Their first responsibility is to the citizens of H&F not a bunch of wealthy individuals, who without being too cynical, are probably also looking to make a few bob out of any move. QPR could leave H&F on 08:17 - Feb 7 with 2222 views | Dixie_CT | Where have QPR asked for anything for free? Of course they will want to negotiate the best price possible but there isn't anything wrong with that and pretty standard practice in any form of negotiation, even more so with land and property. The key issue here should be what % of Loftus Road will be social housing? If it's 15%, too low, if it's 50% may be too high, 35% bingo. It's a bit like goldilocks and the three bears! As much as it isn't the councils job to support football club owners to make money its not for football clubs to supplement cuts to the public purse from austerity or remedy other gaps in infrastructure If the last statement is aimed at Khan, Roman as well as the QPR board then that is fair. If not, it mirrors the councils current bias. [Post edited 7 Feb 2019 8:19]

QPR could leave H&F on 08:24 - Feb 7 with 2207 views | BrianMcCarthy | Listened to it again this morning, and I still fell very uneasy. I feel uneasy with him starting a row with the borough, as that smacks of trying to bully them, an approach that rarely extracts what you want from the people who are holding it. And I feel uneasy that it was Fernandes: either he did a solo run which would undermine the chairperson, or it was a group decision to put the controversial one out in front to start a public battle. And I must reluctantly question the judgement of the podcast who should have seen this coming. This lands our club in a public spat with our borough at a tome when we need them desperately, and the podcast gave a platform to Fernandes to start it. If this approach by Fernandes (and, possibly, his fellow owners) ends well, I'll be amazed. [Post edited 7 Feb 2019 9:27]

QPR could leave H&F on 08:33 - Feb 7 with 2189 views | Konk | Brief response as I'm popping out, but Fulham agreed to finance works in Bishop's Park and open up the riverside walk as part of our redevelopment. I don't think we're acquiring any council owned land, so we didn't need to negotiate the price of any land with them. Had we done so, then I would have expected the council to drive a hard bargain as is their obligation. Not sure about Chelsea, but I think the land they've acquired was privately owned? The spokesman for the council seems to think Fernandes asked for the Batman Close land for free.
