Sky sports coverage of the rise and fall of Swansea 19:06 - Feb 5 with 16221 viewsmagicdaps10

Anyone seen it?

Just received a message about it and by all accounts our net spend was highlighted by them as -60m.

Makes you wonder how someone could create such a mess that we are witnessing if the claim by sky is true.

Yes I saw it _61 million net spend.
Does not include sacked managers wages agents fees or loans though.
But even with all that the 70 million black hole is hard to fathom.

Doesn't this mean that the club saved £61 million rather than losing it? If these are the cost-cutting measures taking effect, and we're still safely in mid-table with still the possibility of a good FA Cup run and a chance at squeezing into the Play-Offs, then isn't this a good thing rather than a bad thing?

Does that 'spent' figure include players like Gomis who technically cost £0 but likely saw £16m+ in wages?

From what I saw it was based on transfer fee values only. Mostly meaningless other than to highlight how shit we’ve been at buying players over the last three years.

So in the income in that period would have been c +. £300m? With a net spend of +61M means my wife is actually quite good with her credit card.

Takes some doing to be in the crap with them figures.
TV revenue even with the drop after relegation.
should have covered wages.

But with Lisa confirming this afternoon on another thread that the books seen by the Trust do not show sufficient detail to spot any wrong doing

There remains suspicion amongst the majority of the supporters.

Where do we go from here
The Trust need to get the vote for legal action going as soon as possible.

No matter what bull the Yanks come out with.

It hardly means very little but to be fair, it does not show the black and white of the finances.

There is obviously a big hit with relegation but there is no way taking into accounts the parachute payments that there is a 70m black hole......absolutely no way.

When we were spending very little on transfers but selling players at profit, 80% of our turnover was being spent on wages.

What do you suppose has happened over the last few years to that figure and the impact that's had on our finances?

I'm not sure where the figure of £70m has come from but surely nobody thinks we have been in profit over the last few years?

Indeed, and one that seems to be becoming accepted wisdom very quickly.

Could be true, could be shite, but it most certainly is not a fact.

Out of curiosity, what is our first payment in regards to parachute payments!?.....40m.

The average cut in income from premier league to championship is 50%.....120m would drop down to 60m.

Do the maths! Where the fook has 70m come from aside the mouth of the all knowing idiot who posts on this site.

If the figure were true, we would have been in financial ruin if we stayed in the premier league for the foreseeable future.
