Anybody? 15:24 - Jan 31 with 5122 viewsBytholWyn

I'm not trying to raise false hopes here, because it's unlikely he'll sign on loan for us - but assuming Dan James leaves (very likely), and Bony and Montero leave (likely) then we should be in a strong position to offer Liverpool and Klopp the game time they want. According to this report Hull are keen on taking him, but Klopp mentions a couple of teams that are interested in taking him: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6637357/Hull-interested-takin

This signing would go some way to make up for James' departure. It's a deal that would make a lot of sense for all parties - for Liverpool they would be loaning Woodburn to a club that play the right way, with a manager with a track record of bringing through youngsters. He would also be teaming up with players, in Roberts and Rodon, who he's already familiar with at Wales U23 level. For Woodburn it would give him precious game time and the chance of making the Slovakia qualifier. For us, we would gain a very talented player who can play centrally and out wide. He's also great at free kicks - which has been a big problem all season.

Chances are this won't happen, simply because of the loan fee involved - but who knows?

I'd rather not sell our most exciting prospect just to loan someone else's, who's not as good currently, just to develop him a little bit at our expense and cost only for him to return to his parent club or someone else in 6 months time.

It looks as if James is going regardless, so the choice is between getting no one and getting a quality player, albeit green. I've seen Rodon, Mepham, Wilson, James and Ampadu in the same Wales U21 team on a number of occasions and the two that have impressed the most have been Ampadu and Woodburn. He's quality, no question.

Not at the moment he's not. He could barely get a game at Sheffield United.

I like it, now if Liverpool could cover the wages & not want a loan fee plus send down regular food parcels we are on.

Woodburn's finishing is far better than James'. If Camp had done his homework he would have known that James was going to shoot straight at him - and he wouldn't have dived out of the way. James is very exciting and a great prospect, but so is Woodburn. Have people forgotten his classy control and superb finish vs Austria already? And his superb length of the field run before crossing at full tilt for Hal Robson Kanu to score out in Moldova? He might take a while to get up to speed - but without James and Montero we're going to be seriously lacking in a cutting edge. Woodburn will probably end up and Hull or Blackburn, but we'd be stupid not to be in the picture to sign him.

Get in there while we have a chance: https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool/ben-woodburn-misses-out-on-l

We need at least something to cling to. At least we made some transfers over the summer. If we lose James, Bony, Montero and Fer with nobody coming in how fyking awful will that be...

Err you are utterly dreaming if you think there will be any incoming players. We only have an exit door. Sadly those going through it are not those on the board

Ben Woodburn has done absolutely nothing in his club career.

Found out at Sheff Utd like I knew he would be.

Bit of a ridiculous post. You do realise he's only just turned 19? And he's already performed for Wales, and is highly rated at Liverpool. Perhaps you'd prefer it if we signed nobody.
