it’s like this. Club have been confident but even forgetting them, I spoke to someone close to James yesterday who said it will “100% get done” (his words not mine, just so we’re clear). It’s been hanging that way since last week. Question now is whether it’ll actually go through

It's harsh on Leeds and Dan, but it may be that the financial need to sell him was eased when Bony and his alleged £120k a week were officially off the books.
I'm sure if the situation was reversed, Leeds fans would be delighted to have kept a promising player. | |

He'll be absolutely fine when he gets his new contract. He's a football player. Chip paper stuff. If he continues to progress you'll be back or he'll get a club with better prospects, maybe Watford or Brighton.
The far more interesting story for us is the obvious power battle within the club. DJ and leeds are just a sideshow in any way compared to that little honey I would say. | |

That's just my opinion, may well be something else entirely, but it seems fairly likely.
I wouldn't be happy if I was a Leeds fan, but as Monmouth says, I can see Dan signing a new contract now and it'll all be water under the bridge for him as it all comes down to money for the players at the end of the day.
If you guys go up without him, you'll forget all about him. If you don't, I'll imagine our boys will get a warm reception at your place next season. | |

Who knows what the hell has gone on, have 1of the club’s tried to change the terms of the deal/ more or less money etc, but if and I say if it’s a case of Swansea just stopping contact its very poor. Take the fact that the club concerned is Leeds out of it, if I was Dan James and has been waiting 5 hours kicking my heels I wouldn’t be very happy. What’s not clear is whether he has asked to move or been touted for sale and possibly didn’t want to go or actually was touted and then agreed to go. No doubt the move would have boosted his bank balance. The club could hav3 a pretty peeved player on its hands if it’s at fault.

The plot thickens. While I understand keeping Dan, not sure why someone would pull the plug on Fer going. He's gone in the summer anyway, so this is either someone in the club making a statement or the club believing that we can go up this season and with Bony gone, we can take the financial hit of keeping Fer for another six months. | |
