The number of deniers does seem remarkably high. I could understand it better if people were saying that it is difficult to be sure just how many Jews died, with for example the possibility that Jews killed in the Soviet Union pushed the figure above 6 million. From what one can see 5 to 6 million would be the minimum figure, even allowing that there are no complete records.

They did keep quite meticulous records. They even shipped engineers in from America directly into the death camps to service the machines that kept the punch card data of all the people processed. Then you have census records of before and after the event and there can be little doubt of the numbers involved. | |

But many people forget the approx 5M "other" victims of the Holocaust, which included Roma and Sinti (Gypsies), homosexuals, people with intellectual or physical challenges, and many other different religions. I did the Berlin Marathon about 4 years ago with a couple of mates and went to the Holocaust Memorial Museum there. My God, it was haunting. There is a room where names of the victims are all over the walls, its situated in very strange lighting and soft music, very, very quiet. As you are walking to the room, there's a story board, in great details, with very graphic pictures of how history unfolded. As you come out, you're faced with something that is called 'Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe', which is basically a set of irregular sized rectangular stones, think it's meant to disorientate you. It certainly does. Also as you walk in, there's a sign which said 'it happened before, it can happen again'. The way things are going and the hatred and racism, I see more and more of in Court, that is spot on.
The Germans don't hide from their past, all over Berlin there are brass plaques on the pavement displaying names of families that were murdered.
It is the most horrible, beautiful, awful, place I've ever been. The three of us, when we left, just sat outside in silence.
Something that should never be forgotten, in the world of 'Britain for Britain' and 'America First', it sadly is becoming a thing of fading, black and white pictures. [Post edited 28 Jan 2019 20:16]
