I am glad that they weren't rewarded for failing to beat Derby twice after being 2 up, with a Winter Break in Spain/Dubai etc with this enforced Blank Weekend.

The fitness levels and composure shown against Everton most certainly got us through the last 10/15 minutes .... which certainly wouldn't have been the case a few weeks ago.

Full steam ahead on The Hassanhuttl Express.

He doesn't like prima donnas either. When Ings was injured the club arranged for a cab (standard West Quay type or similar) to take him to hospital for treatment and he moaned about the car
Ralph told him he wasn't that good!

Takes a "Special Man " to be a successful Premiership manager - Trying to keep a balance between men being paid a disgraceful amount of money, many having HUGE EGOES ........... and trying at the same time - to mold them into a successful "Team ".

No one knows what the future will bring - but I personally believe that Ralph Hassanhuttl will outshine and outperform anything that Mauricio Pochettino or Ronald Koeman ever achieved with Saints - and will be a WANTED MANAGER!
I personally have a very low opinion of Ralph Krueger , and can;t stand his verbal diarrhea corporate speak ( he can talk for 20 minutes and say nothing ) but you do have to give him credit for bringing Ralph to St Mary's, as you could feel the connection between them both at the recent "fans forum evening ".

So let us enjoy the ride while he is with us and like " ericofarabia " says - Full steam ahead on The Hassanhuttl Express.

What impresses me most is his philosophy of looking for his the type of players to be able to build "his team "mainly ------- Quality only goes so far in Hasenhuttl's recruitment. They must have the right mindset, the right attitude, and operate under a brand new set of rules he has introduced to his players.

Are Saints looking to sign this Hugh Egoes fella? Who does he play for and is there a YouTube compilation video from which we can choose to cheer or boo him before he’s pulled on a shirt?

He is a special man and he is certainly using military type squad discipline tactics; no individual is bigger than the team, and they must commit.
Think he may have served in the Austrian Jagdkommando or similar, if not he has read and rehearsed the Royal Marines handbook, once a player shows total support for the cause he will receive total support back!

Some man, combining modern football coaching with such discipline.

I am very happy that, for once ASIS, I can agree with 100% of what you have written!!

And it is interesting that 'corporate man' Ralph K, has brought in someone who seems to be the complete opposition of a corporate box-ticker.

Everything he is doing - motivating the players, inspiring the fans, taking a chance on the youth players, clearing out those who don't fit, always saying it like it is - is completely brilliant. And he will stay as long as he stays. He's here for now, that's all that matters.

I can even see him turning Boufal and Carillo into something useful in the summer!

If Ralph gets us into mid table this season, ralph K has got to get him to sign a new 4 year contract asap. When Levy comes calling he will certainly go, but at least we'll get some decent compensation. Say.....£40m?

Just read an article in the echo where he wants to buy Young players and sell high in Ralph we believe he has a vision go for it
0

Ralph and team discipline on 08:40 - Jan 26 with 961 viewsButty101

According to that article we strayed from that path. I would say we didn’t, we bought badly.
As someone else said the squad needs cutting, but to not bring anyone in, in this window is suicide. Letting Soares go for virtually nothing is a huge mistake imo. He has been involved in all our good results.
And what happens if the new manger bounce wears off (like it did for Swansea last season). Ralph will end up with little ability to change things.

I love football fans, such a rational and completely unfickle bunch...

For the last 2-3 years we’ve had endless threads about how the players aren’t good enough and have to be got rid of: ‘You wouldn’t be able to give him away’; ‘I’ll drive him there myself’; ‘I hope he never plays for the club again’, all this sort of stuff. Now we have a manager who, rather than persevere with players who aren’t good enough, aren’t committed, have taken the pLss out of the fans every week for years, is prepared to move them on at last and we still have fans getting all anxious and worried that he doesn’t know what he’s doing (even though it’s needed to be done for the last few years)!!

1. Everyone knows we have to sell to buy
2. Our squad is bloated and average
3. We finally have a new manager with forward-thinking ideas and the players we’re selling don’t fit this
4. We will bring new players in, clubs always buy late in January
5. Pull yourselves together ffs
