Maybe, but an autism bill for Wales is needed first.

Is that the same Kirsty Williams who saved Carwyn as First Minister and then got appointed as education secretary?

Nothing like a vote for self advancement.

Have they given a reason for rejecting this? Could it be perhaps that it’s too expensive and they need the money to spend on Cardiff?

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Apparently they think that autism falls under the auspices of The Social Services and Well Being Act (Wales) 2014 so they don't need a separate act. As a parent of an autistic child, however, they can kiss my f*cking arse.

If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--forever.

In my current role (quitting on Jan 31st yikes!!!) I can't tell you how many times I have Advocated for a client who has a mental health disorder or learning difficulty and receives some form of care at home. They almost always choose to employ a PA with who they can develop a long term working relationship. It works brilliantly well as the PA really gets to understand their care needs and the client feels secure in knowing the person who is supporting them, rather than ad hoc carers from an agency.

HOWEVER

When their care needs develop to a level that they require specialist nursing care, they are unable to have a PA and receive care from a specialist nurse. In England you can train your PA to then do the specific nursing tasks required - this ensures continuity of care. In Wales you can't and the Welsh Government have refused to amend this anomaly for over ten years. I honestly can't see why. It's all about personal choice and empowerment at the end of the day?

Just another example people in Wales being short changed imo.
