Mutual consent tonight ? 16:01 - Jan 5 with 15945 viewsHopwoodblue

Thanks very much for everything but think we both need to go our separate ways ?

This really is hurting our club very badly and I can't see it being turned round under the present management team I'm afraid.

Poll: Would we have a stronger management team with Flicker back ?

If Hill did leave where does that leave the possible signings or departures!!!!!

Would a new manager have time to sign players during the transfer window.

If Hill goes then Beech as to go aswell as i dont think he is the way forward..

26 days of window left... better now than in 2 weeks!!

I suspect a new manager would see us setting up for league 2 now, and a big push...

More chance of the pope streaking and windmilling in the centre circle than Hill walking.

He has it too easy here.

I suspect with writing on the wall the support staff will be uneasy I cant see Beech surviving unless he has distanced himself from Hill maybe BBM will be in the frame as intrim we a view to permanent it could end up Rochdale celtic in the new year.

This is not the time for bickering.

Its a terrible position for him to be in just days into the job but I suspect it was support for Hill that led to Dunphy's exit I also expect that Hill knows it and maybe trying to force the club to act.

This is not the time for bickering.

He'll never walk. Sack him.

Nobody expects him to walk but a compensation package will be on the table after the game I expect an announcement by tomorrow at the latest. I could be miles off but if Hill is still in the job come next game the club is planning for next year in Div 2. It would take more balls to stick with him than it would to sack him.

Mutual consent will just mean a financial agreement has been reached and both parties are happy.
But it still means the same he's been sacked.

I can’t defend Hill anymore. This is worse than last season. The reason we ended up in trouble last year was a good cup run, fixture back log and dropping way too many points from winning positions. This season we don’t even get in the winning position In the first place. I’m realistic and I know the clubs limitations. I know we’re gonna be on the end of a hiding once or twice a season but when we’re shipping 3 goals in what feels like every other game something has to change.

Brought some amazing times at Dale but for me , sadly, he’s got to go.

He won’t walk, he’s far too arrogant.

It will cost the club some money to get rid - if the new chairman wants to make his mark, perfect way of doing it.

Is it the manager being tactically inept?
Is it the players using player power to influence the board into dismissing the manager?
Is it the manager trying to force being dismissed by sabotaging the season?
There are many reasons for why we’re in this predicament but with our notoriously tight lipped club, we’ll not find out anything soon.

What does Hill expect at half time when we’ve shipped another two goals other than booing? We’ll see him attack the fans on the incoming interview I’m sure, but he needs to realise that fan negativity and booing only comes as a consequence of poor performance, and is not the catalyst for it.

I, and I’m sure most, would like to see Hill turn this around and begin playing good football again, where we attack, challenge teams and don’t display this kind of disjointed, timid performance, but I honestly can’t see it happening.

3.5 years remaining on his deal currently.

Assume he's on £100k per year + bonuses.

That's £350k + an amount to be negotiated to pay what Hill would argue he would have achieved in the bonuses and for the club breaching his contract.

We look almost a full team short at the moment. For all his faults, the biggest currently is surely poor recruitment. So does he get the chance to bring in five or six more, or should it be someone else? Or is it just a case of not going bankrupt, regardless of what's happening on the pitch.

Or he has a contractually agreed severance package? We don't know do we? So many people throw numbers around on here without knowledge.

I agree - I reckon he’ll be on £250k per annum

Which professional footballer, in their right mind, would look at the sequence of results & players shipped out, and want to join us?

No manager gets a full pay out for the length of his contract. I reckon $100 thousand wouldn't be too short of the mark and Hill will find another job by next season.

This is not the time for bickering.
