Eze abuse 09:14 - Dec 30 with 14553 views | davman | Getting silly isn't it? He wasn't awful at all yesterday; no worse than many of them, but there was a lot more anger towards him than any other player in the Lower Loft. Why do we turn on the talented? My Pompey mate with me was amazed at the level of frustration showed by the crowd in light of our league position and the fact that we were not losing. He was right too...

Eze abuse on 14:33 - Dec 30 with 2309 views | qprd | so much of it is just expectation management. I don't see why he cant be a 25 million quid player at some point.. but he's 20 personally, I would like to see eze: -try to get on the ball more -ride challenges as opposed to constantly going down to draw the foul -shoot more- he took 6 shots against sheff utd (his best performance of season)... his shots seem to be down -follow defensive instructions- yesterday, he didn't follow through on the press at times, particularly on goal kicks in 2nd half we collectively need to accept: -hes not going to run around like Jamie Mackie or slide tackle like mass. for some reasons a huge chunk of our fans fixate on the totally mundane things he cant do (that any unskilled lapdog can do) rather than on the brilliant things that only he can do (like his pass to pav ystd) -hes young and will therefore be inconsistent- this is his first full professional season in the championship. hes 20. luke freeman never has off days, but he also has 200 championship appearances under his belt. we need to accept that eze will have games like he did against stoke and then follow that with some mediocre performances

Eze abuse on 15:29 - Dec 30 with 2226 views | daveB | he wasn't helped yesterday by the midfield not winning the ball back so we rarely had the ball and when he did get it he had very few options. Personally would have taken him off in the second half either given Chair a run out or Bright Samuel with Freeman coming inside.
Eze abuse on 15:36 - Dec 30 with 2214 views | CiderwithRsie | An extra thing with Eze is that not only is he the Great Shining Hope of our youth system, he's specifically in the side as the one who's a bit special. There's a sort of fan who always gets on the backs of those players for being lazy; you'll never please those guys. But for the rest of us, if the team isn't looking like scoring, we're hoping Eze/Taraabt/Stan/etc is going to pull a rabbit out the hat and win the game with a bit of magic, so he cops it when no-one is having a pop at e.g. Wells.
Eze abuse on 16:05 - Dec 30 with 2181 views | Nov77 | There we go again, Eze/Taarabt/Stan? Ridiculous comparison that doesn’t do him any favours. As they say on Sesame Street “one of these does not belong” Eze has a way to go before he even can be compared to buzsacky, never mind the best of our number 10s

Eze abuse on 17:20 - Dec 30 with 2115 views | Lblock | I think the £25mill comment was me? I stand by that comment. He’s going to be a tremendous player, note the GOING TO BE. I’d have made changes yesterday but I’d have moved Freeman inside, put BOS on and hooked the woeful Cousins. I’m sure Eze would then have had more space to play in due to Freeman opening players up and being a right busy wasp plus pace available on each flank. Yep we look really tired and plenty of teams will do. It’s so typically QPR that we mount an unexpected play off challenge but then we lose key players to long term injury and have this damn embargo which means we can’t supplement or strengthen for the immediacy or rest of season. It also seems Hall and Cousins will never rediscover their former selves with us, no other centre backs at the club apart from Furlong so Toni and Lynch need to strap in and dig out the energy reserves Annoying game yesterday but a while ago we’d of lost…it’s just so Championship

Eze abuse on 18:12 - Dec 30 with 2072 views | CiderwithRsie | Bit of a stuck record there. You can change Taraabt and Bowles to Buzsacky and Byrne, or Lee Cook, or Rowan Vine or even Angelo Balanta if you must. The point is that all of those players were picked for flair, not for work-rate or tackling or as a fox-in-the-box. If the team has a bad day at the office you're hoping for a bit of magic to buy a goal: if it doesn't happen, they stick out because you don't say "oh well, look at the work-rate." Where you've got a point is that Taraabt and Bowles were outstanding players and it isn't really fair to expect Eze to match them.
Eze abuse on 20:04 - Dec 30 with 2009 views | johncharles | Eze, take no notice of these dead heads. I was there when they slagged off Stanley. You are a proper QPR number 10.

Eze abuse on 22:59 - Dec 30 with 1877 views | daveB | no one comparing him to stan or even buzsaky, just saying he is that kind of player who can produce something from nothing in the tradition of those sort of players. How far they run and how hard they tackle shouldn't be what they are judged on

Eze abuse on 23:26 - Dec 30 with 1858 views | CliveWilsonSaid | I never had the pleasure of watching Stan Bowles play football. However I did get to see quite a bit of Adel Taarabt. I always thought he was a bit of a grafter personally although not towards the end obviously. Eze is struggling for form at the minute. I wasn't at the Reading match but it's been obvious for a while. Against Ipswich he was fairly ineffectual but he didn't stop trying. I'm not sure whats up. Is he missing Rangel in the side? They seemed to have a good understanding. [Post edited 30 Dec 2018 23:28]

Eze abuse on 23:55 - Dec 30 with 1833 views | TacticalR | Yes, he was playing quite high up and ended up doing a lot of running off the ball (covering runs to stop passes, not mad chasing). On a side note, there is something of the chess player about him. He is always looking for the right move. Eze abuse. Just say no!

Eze abuse on 00:56 - Dec 31 with 1809 views | numptydumpty | Lots of rangers fans love to have a moan. Bloke behind me was like a broken record - everytime the ball went anywhere near Eze he moaned about his lack of effort and was calling for him to be taken off from around twenty minutes on. Irritating and pointless type of support - in fact its not support !!! The guy is young - he is not yet a player that is able to have pressing as part of his game and he is a little lightweight but as said he is a work in progress - he can be sublime but like all these type players he can drift completely out of the game and I guess a player like him will always get more abuse if effort not seeming to be put in by the entire team as was the case in the first half against reading as opposed to your type of player like Mackie who ran around like a blue arse fly !!!! He can come out with the sublime and as others said through ball to Pavel was brilliant - if he does two or three things that are brilliant and leads to a change in scoreline all well and good... And yep he is a young boy - I do tend to think with some their maybe a little racism thrown in also. His style reminds me of Roy Wegerle vey languid and as my mate reminded me - Les Ferdinand often got stick from many "supporters" for being lazy. To be honest fans that constantly criticise certain fans I not got much time for myself - criticising a young up and coming player with potential is not going to do them or anyone else any good - ok its not one hundred percent perfect but get behind all the players and the team will progress. Why at rangers there is always one player fans pick on is very strange to me - Its unkind, unhelpful and plain wrong. Yep he probably does need some rest but if he is continuing to be picked when struggling - if people have to have a go at someone - well the manager picks the team - but to be honest when at the ground support everyone associated with the team - otherwise we not doing our side of the bargain !!! The bloke behind me was unbelievably irritating in the extreme .

Eze abuse on 09:26 - Dec 31 with 1673 views | ElHoop | Well I was at the game and for me, in the first half, his challenges were something less than wholehearted - either half-hearted or on the odd occasion no heart at all. People say that he's tired but in the spell in the second half - say from around 55 minutes his involvement was much more aggressive. I'm not sure whether he reacted to the rise in our tempo or helped to create it, but he was much more effective from that point onwards. However, he had two men on him when he got possession so it wasn't easy for him to find space. I'm puzzled as to why he was so lethargic in the first half - maybe he just goes with the flow and lifts his game as the team lifts its game. But I wouldn't say that he was tired. He's a good enough player to set his own tempo, but he's not always doing that at the moment and dropping him won't help him to achieve that.
Eze abuse on 09:47 - Dec 31 with 1656 views | westberksr | His game doesn't naturally focus on the defensive stuff so he will miss runs and not rat around like Scowen. That's one of the reasons he plays of the main striker and isn't deeper. I always think that he puts reasonable effort in on that side of the game considering it's not his main attribute. He also has players all over him now as teams are aware of what he can do, this does make space for other players. He's very talented and fans abusing him need to give him a break; he's only 20 and being touted as the next saviour.
Eze abuse on 09:58 - Dec 31 with 1645 views | nix | I thought he looked tired and would have given him a rest for this match. He probably gets more tired than some of the other players because he's young and because he gets far more attention than the rest of the team and because he gets kicked up in the air far more. It's going to take a while to get used to that because it probably didn't happen earlier in his career. As for fans having a go at our young players, it drives me to distraction. Furlong used to get this too. I don't know why they don't get that they're learning the game and they're not going to be the wily old foxes yet. They'll make mistakes; they'll probably be inconsistent; they may not be as mentally strong. There's a reason why even Olympic athletes, where athleticism is even more important than in football, take time often to reach their peak. Mo Farah didn't win his first gold medal until late 20s; Jessica Ennis was 26 etc, etc. I really think we should be more patient with him than the more experienced players, not less. And I've really enjoyed watching him drift past defenders in that languid style. I adored Jamie Mackie too for his blood-and-guts passion and enthusiasm. But I wouldn't want eleven Jamie Mackies either in the team. I'm going to miss him when he's gone, because we don't often get players with that style and guile. And it's even rarer for that kind of player to also have the kind of temperament he has where he doesn't cause trouble and wants to learn. Also I'd like our manager to protect him a bit more. Grealish's manager bangs on and on about him being kicked up in the air. It's been reported that Eze is the second most fouled player in the Championship. I really believe that referees listen to that stuff. Yes he occasionally goes down too easily. But he also gets kicked up in the air every single game.
Eze abuse on 10:02 - Dec 31 with 1641 views | PinnerPaul | Yep - spot on! Said at the time that the speculation a few months back linking him with Tottenham was ridiculous - likewise the abuse he gets now for a misplaced pass or a 'missed' tackle is equally silly.

Eze abuse on 13:37 - Dec 31 with 1489 views | hoopdog | This business of Eze is just nonsense , we've been picking up points and are in a position none us believed we would be in with him in the side , S Mc insists on including him in his side that tells us he is in the side on merit Now I'm sure if we was bigger club and we had a stronger squad S Mc would chose to rest him due to the fact that he is a young player that's having a lot asked of him So what does his knockers want a lower league position and Eze dropped or a flirtation with a possible play off place ?? Imho he should be given a rest for the Leeds game even though Im against our disrespect for the cups
Eze abuse on 16:38 - Dec 31 with 1403 views | DylanP | Is it anger or frustration? He is not pulling his weight. So, naturally people are frustrated. He hasn't been pulling his weight for a while. If we are winning, people might give him the benefit of the doubt. But being pegged back at home by a very poor Reading team people are going to naturally wonder why we have a passenger in the team while there are 4-5 very talented youngsters who can't get a game. Chair, Oteh, Smyth, and BOS are all really fun to watch (for the tiny amount of time we have seen them play this season). If the game is drab and boring its not rocket science to bring on one of these live-wires to inject a spark.
