Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 11:40 - Dec 3 with 1678 views | saint22 | Lets wait a beat to see who they appoint but it certainly is statement of intent that they don't intend a repeat of last year

Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 13:32 - Dec 3 with 1503 views | I_would | Reed was the cancer, obviously, but we need three players in Jan to stay up. Sacking Hughes is the equivalent of a sticking plaster on a severed neck.

Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 16:42 - Dec 3 with 1401 views | Scoot | RK is the cancer, when he came in LS started to underperform. I think Les was chocked off by him. Last bit of dead wood then GJ can do it his way. He left Kats guys in for over 18 months now it's time for a reshuffle from the top down. Ralf knows his days are numbered then he can go back to puck pushing on a frozen lake.

Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 17:34 - Dec 3 with 1339 views | Gennaro_Contaldo | I don't think Kruger is an issue. He's a CEO, a figurehead, he wasn't involved in football matters, Les Reed was. He's gone. Hughes has gone, Kruger will help source a replacement for Les Reed and that's probably as far as it goes with interfering in football matters. Give the guy a break.

Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 10:12 - Dec 7 with 1092 views | SonicBoom | So thought I'd revisit this. When I posted it the club had sacked Reed and then Hughes. They've now appointed what appears to be a manager that - dare I say - the majority of us are enthusiastic about. I don't know if it's Krueger or the owner himself but that is three decisions that I'm pretty happy with. Maybe things are looking up.
Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 10:18 - Dec 7 with 1075 views | SaintNick | Krueger is an easy target and calling him names just shows a lack of knowledge about what his role actually is, people keep saying the club has gone downhill since he arrived, the truth is that from a difficult start and half the first team gone, he came in to a frail infrastructure that basically consisted of one man making pronouncements of playing in the Champions League but with no money to do it Krueger came in and built the infrastructure up from basically scratch it went up hill for three years but hit a problem last year and now this. Krueger has dealt with it, he has done his job

Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 10:34 - Dec 7 with 1049 views | Bridders2 | Things are looking up and positive changes are being made. I'd say Goa has taken top level advice and told RK to sort it out. Things had been going wrong under Les Reed for some time, and we all know the catalogue of errors, from not getting Alderweirald signed when we had first option, not moving heaven and earth to keep Koeman for another year or two, and not selling all our best players without proper replacements, to bad managerial appointments...the list goes on and on. The last big mistake was to give Hughes a 3 year contract, knowing his appalling track record. That cost the club £6m! Gao and his advisers have made their assessment and are starting to kick ass.
Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 10:42 - Dec 7 with 1038 views | SaintNick | I agree with you about the changes being positive, but I do think a lot of what has gone on has been clouded by innaccuracies. 1. Alderweireld, yes the club had an option to sign him at the end of the loan deal, they could enforce that with Atletico Madrid, but not the player himself who had been tapped up by Spurs and could decline moving to Saints, he followed Paul Mitchell to Spurs, Mitchell was the man who was responsible for signing him being head of recruitment, so not Reed's fault. 2.Koeman, The problem was that Koeman's agent was the man tasked by Everton to get their new manager, they made him the 6th highest paid manager in the World, we just could not compete with that money not Reeds fault. 3. Replacements, in the main we did replace our best players, we fell down in one area though central defence

Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 10:48 - Dec 7 with 1029 views | Leslie_Hughes | I have. I thought we were a shambles of late. Reed sacked with no replacement, terrible football. They’ve (whoever was behind it) done very well in getting the new man in. I can’t wait to see us improve now. Attendance was down and we weren’t going anywhere. This appointment has been fantastic and I think the fans will now turn out and get behind the side. As for Krueger, I’ve never particularly wanted him to leave, I just found his five pledges, and deep roster nonsense ridiculous. The job he does behind the scenes is obviously a good thing and he’s turned things around in what he is meant to do. I’ve read the fact he spoke German to the new man helped him sign up. For the first time since Koeman joining i’m excited about football again. I also loved his line ‘if you want guarantees then buy a washing machine’ [Post edited 7 Dec 2018 10:50]

Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 15:54 - Dec 7 with 943 views | Bridders2 | Nick, we knew within 6 weeks that Alderweireld was a fantastic defender long before Spurs tapped him up. Why didn't Les Reed jump on it, and tie up a deal to keep him, long before anybody else got wise. At that stage he, and A.Madrid would probably have been happy to agree to a 3 year deal for £11m. As for the lack of suitable player replacements the obvious one was Fonte, but what about Mane?(not Redmond),Pelle?(not Austin) and I think most of all we missed a play maker like Lallana (Tadic was never a better or equal player)
Anyone changed their tune on Gao yet? on 18:55 - Dec 7 with 856 views | Kennington | No not changed much, only results will do that. Gao really has two opportunities to impress a year and those are of course the transfer windows. If he sanctions mediocre squad filler then he’s not going to win over anyone. That written, it was clear Hughes and Reed weren’t fit for their jobs.
