Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 20:35 - Nov 19 with 2894 views | Dr_Winston | Common sense would have been not to hold one this year, and double down next time. Instead they chose the worst of both worlds.

Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 20:41 - Nov 19 with 2878 views | _ | I went and it was pretty bad. I think the word shameful is accurate. They're blamed the road works on the Kingsway but that doesn't wash. They could've got umpteen more floats along the route and not the poxy 3 they did. It was just a bit shit and all very unnecessary. Some of the comments were hilarious though.

Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 20:55 - Nov 19 with 2847 views | LeonWasGod | I love Christmas. I'd ignored it for years, but that all changed once we had the kids. It's a magical time of year now. We spent last year's in Quebec City in the snow. It was awesome; a real winter wonderland. Lights everywhere, Christmas market, mulled wine in the pubs, a toboggan run in the centre of the city. What's not to like. Chuffin cold though.
Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 21:00 - Nov 19 with 2839 views | Andy1300 | Yes, just look at the carnivals around the West Country at this time of year. They are a massive draw for the area, people travel from all over to see them, a lot even stay over in hotels and make a weekend of it. Win win I would say. Swansea council lack ambition and as we know, 'ambition is critical' [Post edited 19 Nov 2018 22:36]

Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 09:54 - Nov 20 with 2666 views | Catullus | That makes perfect sense, which is why it'd never have happened. All they had to do was say because of the ongoing redevelopment and subsequent health and safety concerns the parade will be cancelled this year but we'll make up for it next Christmas. Someone asked about the Winter Wonderland, well we went down last year and it was pretty crap too, expensive, not much to see for younger kids but fine if you like the bigger rides. Christmas is (or should be made) special for younger kids. How many parents have queued to see Santa down there and paid £5 to get a poundshop present? I'm with Darran, Christmas is become sh/te. We've been retreating from the over commercialised nonsense, turning the tv off and doing things together that don't cost the earth, playing board games, having friends around, helping neighbours. We're trying to teach our son that there is a lot more important stuff to worry about than the latest PS4 game or which footballers name is on your trainers!! We are really hoping for snow this Christmas, a good snowball fight always helps!!

Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 18:50 - Nov 20 with 2543 views | Andy1300 | Winter wonderland is over priced rides and nothing more. It makes some money for the council and ruins the area it stands on

Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 13:26 - Nov 23 with 2293 views | swanforthemoney | Apparently it was outsourced this year, according to the Walesonline. Normally the council in house team do it and it’s pretty good. What Walesonline don’t say is who it was outsourced to. The fact they don’t name the firm to whom it was outsourced must mean there’s some dirt to dish, surely ?

Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 15:29 - Nov 23 with 2234 views | Dr_Winston | It's why any grumbles that Swansea's problems are entirely down to the Assembly should be treated with caution. Swansea council are more than capable of f*cking things right up unassisted.

Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 18:12 - Nov 23 with 2199 views | Private_Partz | I guess that one was aimed at me a tad. My usual reply is it is BOTH at fault and 35 miles of motorway does not better councillors make etc etc. Our Councillors are as inept as any others throughout Wales. As far as the Assembly ( Note The Doc uses similar terms to me Clasey;-)) is concerned it is more by design than incompetence. Also the inaction of our local AMs Take Mike Hedges for instance. With all that is going on in the world he is in Byron the Butchers in Morriston who have donated a hamper to the Sally Army and attended the Love Your Liver Campaign. Stuff like that could easily done by local members whilst he fries the bigger fish.....

Swansea Christmas 'Parade' on 19:02 - Nov 23 with 2175 views | Andy1300 | Swansea council are vile. St Davids car park used to be free after 7pm, now it's after 8pm They want people to come into the centre and do stuff like this. They pick and choose when to send the wardens out in force. I know you shouldn't park illegally but surely some common sense is needed. Where did they expect people to park?
