Sam Allardyce on 18:49 - Nov 4 with 1531 views | Kennington | Can you really see Gao sanctioning a loss of £3/4m through a Hughes payout and then a few more million on a new Allardyce contract? We only buy when we’ve sold, apparently that’s the Southampton Way. That’s why we go for random punts as managers, MP, MP2 or failures that might come good like Hughes. Imagine Allardyce would want total control, which won’t happen and a sizeable wage.

Sam Allardyce on 19:07 - Nov 4 with 1494 views | WestEndBoy | Do you really think anyone could get a better tune out this lot ?Shite squad with Shite attitude.same people calling for Hughes to go are the same mugs who hounded out puel and look where that has got us. We just have a poor squad and the whole club is rudderless. Time a lot had a reality check
Sam Allardyce on 19:11 - Nov 4 with 1474 views | cornetto | Absolutely right about Puel. Horrible football to watch at home but couldn’t argue with 8th and a final in a season when the top 6 started to really pull away. Spoilt whining anuses who didn’t like his interview style. Our fans and club 100% deserve relegation.

Sam Allardyce on 20:04 - Nov 4 with 1364 views | Depressedsaint | Thanks for a considered response to what was a somewhat tongue-in-cheek post — I have no idea what Claude Puel has got to do with it (from other comments), but… I don't know what goes on in Gao’s mind, but I’m sure it isn’t good PR to be thumped 6:1 (even against the illustrious Manchester City), in any event Mark Hughes is going nowhere. Respect to all those who went all that way to see a team set out for ‘damage limitation’ — and then got what it deserved…
Sam Allardyce on 20:25 - Nov 4 with 1288 views | WestEndBoy | My point about Claude Puel is that saints fans used to be a realistic, quite sensible bunch. However now it seems that any period where we are not playing the total football that we became accustomed to under Koeman and Pochettino all the mongs call for the manager to be sacked.the reality is that we have a poor squad and the club is not being run properly. Have Newcastle turned on Benitez like we do so easily?

Sam Allardyce on 20:58 - Nov 4 with 1194 views | ericofarabia | Puel got to 8th place and a cup final on what he inherited. Has everybody forgotten the insipid bland football at home (although some great away results) with no wins or goals at home after the Cup Final which has continued right up until now? P!ss poor team selection and tactics in Europe which didn't get us past group stage which was unforgivable, who knows what a good euro run could have done for the club. It was the absolute p!ss poor replacement and transfer policy that has led to where we are now. No way would I want a Fat Sam or Saggy Bollix Faced Coont type quick fix replacement. I'm pretty sure Hughes didn't tell those so called professionals to not even attempt to tackle anybody in or near the box, or fail to complete 6 feet passes to team mates. Lets get back to whatever Hughes was doing when he 1st arrived and put teams like Arsenal and Chelsea under the cosh.

Sam Allardyce on 22:15 - Nov 4 with 1052 views | darthvader | Agreed. Let's show some support to the manager. He wasn't the one scoring own Fücking goals and not tackling in our own box. The players need a rocket. Let's get the loanees back in training with the first team and give the youth a chance.

Sam Allardyce on 23:08 - Nov 4 with 971 views | A1079 | That exactly sums it up ericofarabia. The football under Puel for the most part was dire. I did not call for his head as I was a bit uncomfortable about sacking someone who got us to a final and 8th, but after that cup final we were awful to watch, and I was not bothered that he had gone. People say we fans have got what we deserved. No we have not. What we were saying when Puel was the manager was, we wanted better. We could not score, the performances were like the interviews - great if you suffered from insomnia. Ok, in hindsight, perhaps Puel really was unable to get anything better out of the players and that has become magnified under Pelligrino (who you could see from day One was not upto the job and the wrong appointment). Our recruitment of managers and players have been truly awful over the last 3 seasons. I never thought for one minute that Hughes could be a long term answer but to replace him with Allardyce, just seems like jumping from one crisis management to another.
Sam Allardyce on 03:24 - Nov 5 with 881 views | saint22 | We need stability and as much as I agree there is no way Hughes is telling players to back of and not ta Kyle and not string 3 passes together what is being coached? Or are all the players just not that bothered Bring back boufal and Carrillo I say or are they gonna think fork it too
Sam Allardyce on 06:20 - Nov 5 with 841 views | Ron11 | Make your fuc king mind up. Are you blaming the club or the fans?
Sam Allardyce on 06:26 - Nov 5 with 828 views | Ron11 | Agreed he wasn't scoring the own goals but he is the one who continues to start the likes of Hoedt who is clearly not consistent enough, yet Hughes appears to be the only one who cannot see this. Now that Vestergaard has had the wind taken out of his sails, let's see what he can produce now he's realised he isn't the best thing since sliced bread and get down to some defending.
Sam Allardyce on 07:17 - Nov 5 with 797 views | Jack_flash1975 | Complacent due to a lack of competition in the 1st team squad. Get some of the young and hungry players to show this squad what they used to be like when they first got into football. I remember when Harrison Reed was given his chance and he came on as a sub, ran at the defenders and also chasing the ball down when we didnt have it. That lifted the whole team and the crowd. We need to get back to basics.
Sam Allardyce on 09:28 - Nov 5 with 696 views | Leslie_Hughes | If Pochettino was still here we’d have the likes of Targett, McQueen, Reed, Sims, Hesketh and Gallagher, and we would be a much better side than this rubbish one. Get the youngsters back and f ucking play them. Get rid of the journemen like Austin, Long, Hoedt etc. They’re simply not good enough!
