Get well soon. Evils of depression rearing it's ugly head again.
Good luck buddy.

Yes indeed mate here, here.

Just watched his interview on BBC Wales Today which resonates so much with myself and no doubt a few other posters on here.

Best wishes to the fella.

Am I right in remembering he missed that penalty and was never the same player for us again?

Yeah was thinking that. Norwich away I think with about 10 minutes to go. Ended up losing 2-0.

Best wishes to him indeed.

Wasn’t it a home match under lights?
Anyhow, my very best wishes go to David. Hope he keeps getting all the help he needs and I’m sure there’s plenty out there.

Are you thinking of Mark Gower under Sousa versus Reading in 2009?

Don’t think so mate but I could be wrong. I’m thinking it was at home towards the away end under lights and I felt he was never the same player for us after it.
Hopefully someone can confirm either way.

Sure it was a home match

As said above best wishes to him

On a side note

Had his house (in Bridgend) sprayed by the Basseys whilst playing for us

Sorry pal you're correct it was against QPR at home in 2010. Definitely affected him moving forward as you said.

It was both. He missed a pen against Norwich then 8 weeks later he missed a pen against QPR.

Goodnight.

Yep it was the home miss that did it for him. And it was infront of the north. He got hoiked off at half time and we barely saw him again.

Good luck David. Also Wigan away in the Cup. We could see his confidence ebbing. All the best.

Scored a cracker away at Leicester in the FA cup.
I think.

You could maybe see the signs of a fragile and vulnerable mind after that penalty miss.Shitloads of players miss pens but when Cotterill missed that one everyone was talking about how much it affected him.

Get well soon Cotts.

I don’t think his old man helped when he was down the Registry Office.
