A wins a win but I didn't like the change of hanging on for dear life.

Your right, a win is a win but it's looks to me like a everything is panicked. Why long gets a game is beyond me now. Harry McGuire has scored more goals this season than long has got in the last 2 as a striker. Once that's sinks in think about all the braces that have already gone in this season. 2 goals in 50 odd games in the Prem for a striker is not enough. I think we go back and sideways to often when there's a forward pass on as well.

the misses we had including the pen made me all doom and gloom and started thinking that if palace equalise we completely look like a relegation side who can't hold their lead.

the win makes such a big difference for the team and table and the next game.

Hopefully you're right and we don't go backwards. That's 2 on the trot so who knows? Confidence is a big deal at this level as you know. Table could still change but I can't see much movement now.

Hughes said on Solent that he couldn't understand why we sat back as that wasn't his message.
Well he did take the strikers off and revert to a 5 man midfield and after that we were all over the place, so there's that.
Strange game. Both sides could have scored a hatful and luckily we came out on top.
Any win is precious though and with wins comes confidence which is priceless.

Well if he can't understand it, he needs to look at last years matches under Pellegrini ... that was his default; score a goal and go even more defensive, so it's probably still instilled in a few team members.

It was a good match and I still have faith in Hughes to get more out of this lot of damaged players. He just needs to bin off Austin.

The mindset of sitting back once we go ahead is so fkn infuriating why can't we get after teams and kill them off

Hey Lauren, we just did kill a team off today, one that was in form. In their own backyard. With a clean sheet. Tick full of tock.

Isn’t the definition of killing a team off a late goal to double your lead?

It’s like a high powered business meeting in NY. Get over there on the red eye, turn up at the rendezvous, battle through the nitty gritty, get them to sign on the dotted line at the eleventh hour, then book the next vacay to Puglia.

I agree that putting on extra defensive midfielders makes you sit back and I said at the game that we needed attacking players on to drive the ball up the pitch away from our goal. The goal mouth scrambles would have cost us last season but you could see that we were pressing, getting the secondary balls and a bit of luck... along with an England keeper making some good saves.

They weren't in form. It's three straight defeats for them now.

For the new breed mong squad on here whinging about our first win of the season I can assure you that in the 90s this sort of win would have been so rare that there would have been street parties in Beauvois Valley long into Tuesday afternoon so just f&cking enjoy it or f&ck off you f&cking smeg farmers.

You really are a tool
3 defeats in a row doesn't mean in form
Thick full of cock more appropriate for you

Hey, they won at Swansea in the cup so not quite, and they’ve been playing well, but hey, my bad as you might say.
But it’s a shame you have to resort to some sort of homophobic rant in response.

When I started this chat it was to cunstructivly talk about our opinions on our manager. It should not turn into people being abusive when they don't agree. We all support the same club and want that club to do well But we don't all see things the same way. So dont get nasty!!! My opinion has changed numerous times on here when I've seen things another way or from another point of view. It's how you learn.

And still the bullying goes on. I’ve heard of small man syndrome and didn’t think it could apply to successful female half marathon runners but hey! You live and learn.
