I have sky sports, and a pretty decent TV.
The picture on sky sports standard is absolutely abysmal. Lines around the players etc. Just awful.
UHD is first class however, they must be doing this on purpose to force people to take out HD.

The quality of the TV makes a difference too, even if they are both 4k/UHD. I have 2 UHD TV's, a Samsung QLED and a LG OLED. Could have the same thing playing on both he TV's at the same time but the OLED is superior. Also adjusting the settings to calibrate the picture makes a huge difference. UHD is nearly 4 times as defined as HD and almost 6 times thar of Standard, so you should notice a clear difference, the issue is mainly the fact standard used to be when the average size TV your household had was aprox 40 inch so the pixels fitted in fine. Now they are 50-70 so standard will look horrdenous. | | | |
