Decent find that.
Those first generation astros were lethal.
Many's the time I'd go into school on a Monday with my trousers sticking to the burn marks on the back of my thighs after one too many slide tackles.

Where had the United money gone?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Nice to see footage of Bill Kenyon. Great bloke who did a grand job in trying circumstances.

£2.50 entrance fee. How times have changed indeed !

That looks really weird when I'm sat here in a heatwave.

Regarding admission prices in the past I earned enough as a paper boy to go to 2 or 3 games a week then. I've been to 4 games in a week on more than one occasion. That included trips to all the local First Division sides. I think it was 9d to get in at Spotland, on my first visit to Old Trafford the same season it was 1s 3d.

In the eighties we seemed go from one crisis to another (much like the seventies). Good to see Bill Kenyon displaying the Dale sense of humour in confirming that there was enough money to pay the wages for this week........."and possibly next week".
A big thank you to all those who have guided the club from the very dark days.
