McClaren incoming on 16:02 - May 10 with 4339 views | Toast_R | A done deal according Twitter. Interesting comment from a Newcastle fan... "As a Newcastle fan, like Chaka Khan - I feel for you. Arguably worse manager for us then Pardew. Shocking how he keeps getting jobs. Clueless".

McClaren incoming on 01:24 - May 11 with 3993 views | PlanetHonneywood | You raise an interesting point! Perhaps Clive could let us know if he/the pod were as surprised to learn of TF’s comments or, had they a sniff of the impending skulduggery from some source? If so, did the club ‘ask’ for the matter to be raised, or was TF caught on the back foot by solid journalism - as much as we all were - and proceeded to make a bit of a PR bungle of it...as is often the case with him!

McClaren incoming on 11:18 - May 11 with 3567 views | Ashdown_Ranger | Latest rumours going round are that McClaren is part of a consortium buying into the club, with money to spend...
McClaren incoming on 11:20 - May 11 with 3557 views | Antti_Heinola | That sounds like balls. We have money to spend if we want to - we just can't spend it because we're fighting FFP.

McClaren incoming on 11:20 - May 11 with 3552 views | Mytch_QPR | Oh no... Not money again. It was all starting to go well without it.

McClaren incoming on 11:21 - May 11 with 3548 views | Mick_S | I know nothing, but it would seem very strange to me that he would fancy working under the same constraints as I.H. [Post edited 11 May 2018 11:21]

McClaren incoming on 11:39 - May 11 with 3421 views | kropotkin41 | Rumours of new managers, rumours about FFP, rumours about money, a consortium......... ffs! It's mad around here. Why can't we just have one year without any off the pitch dramas? [Post edited 11 May 2018 11:51]

McClaren incoming on 11:50 - May 11 with 3342 views | Antti_Heinola | Holloway signed eight players in his first 8 months or so. Plus loans. We still have a very large wage bill compared to most clubs. This whole 'constraints' thing has somehow got a bit out of hand because he didn't get £20m to spend like Harry. There was always going to be a bit of money this summer, because with high earners gone there'll be manoeuvrability in the transfer market, especially if we sell one or two. Compared to Wolves or Villa, it's tough yes. But not really any different to most clubs in this league, and a lot of those have done better than us on less.

| |
McClaren incoming on 12:17 - May 11 with 3222 views | Ashdown_Ranger | It does sort of sound like balls, while also sounding curiously credible. Could the consortium buy in by simply paying off the FFP fine, while avoiding a further breach of FFP rules? Or, does money earned by the club through selling shares count as bona fide income (so not upsetting the FFP apple cart) - as opposed to simply writing off debt? Curiouser and curiouser...

McClaren incoming on 12:23 - May 11 with 3186 views | kensalriser | The club can only make money from selling shares held in treasury, ie shares it actually owns. I'd be very surprised if the shares aren't all in the hands of the shareholders.
