Leighton James on Fabianski 21:53 - Apr 26 with 4351 views | leebracey | Leighton seems to have developed a massive crush recently on Fabianski. "Best goalkeeper since Noel Dwyer 1964"....This however, is all relative as Fabianski's ground kicking/sweeper skills would never have been good enough to get in a Martinez/Rodgers/Laudrup team.
Leighton James on Fabianski on 22:02 - Apr 26 with 4321 views | pencoedjack | I agree with Leighton Unfortunately I think he will be sold in the summer
Leighton James on Fabianski on 22:08 - Apr 26 with 4303 views | Ambergambler | Hope not. I think he's our best player.
Leighton James on Fabianski on 23:22 - Apr 26 with 4218 views | JACKMANANDBOY | No one will sign Leighton, he is 65 and past his best. Huw may give it some thought though. [Post edited 26 Apr 2018 23:22]

Leighton James on Fabianski on 06:27 - Apr 27 with 4093 views | dickythorpe | In an ideal world Leighton and others would be banging on about a goalscorer being our best ever. Always shows how poor a side is when the goalkeeper gets talked up. For the record Fab is superb.
Leighton James on Fabianski on 07:02 - Apr 27 with 4067 views | Gowerjack | In which case he'll definitely be sold...

Leighton James on Fabianski on 09:17 - Apr 27 with 3942 views | WarwickHunt | Did a job for us last time he was here. That’s one box ticked... [Post edited 27 Apr 2018 9:18]

Leighton James on Fabianski on 09:18 - Apr 27 with 3941 views | A_Fans_Dad | His goal stopping is superb, but his distribution and Command of his Area are not.
Leighton James on Fabianski on 09:40 - Apr 27 with 3910 views | LeonWasGod | In this world of bashing Huwbert for his signings, this is one he very much got right. Quality keeper for us. I'll be gutted if he goes in the summer, but would think it unlikely as he seems settled and happy with his lot here. He's tried the sitting on a bench thing at a big club and learnt his lesson there already.
Leighton James on Fabianski on 09:50 - Apr 27 with 3900 views | jasper_T | For all the stick he gets for it, his distribution has been well above average for a Prem keeper these past couple of seasons. Very few in world football meet Swansea fans standards in that respect.
Leighton James on Fabianski on 10:30 - Apr 27 with 3857 views | Joe_bradshaw | If every aspect of his game was perfect he wouldn’t be playing for us. He’s as good as we can get without many of the big boys being interested. I hope, at 33, that he’s not seen as much of an investment by them this summer.

Leighton James on Fabianski on 10:30 - Apr 27 with 3857 views | STID2017 | Still faster than some of our wingers on the books. And available for less than £5 million Those boxes are getting ticked quickly

Leighton James on Fabianski on 11:23 - Apr 27 with 3803 views | KGriz16 | he's got nothing to distribute too. our best player by a long stretch, and keeps us in games.
Leighton James on Fabianski on 11:30 - Apr 27 with 3790 views | jack247 | He’s out of contract at the end of next season. He either needs to sign a new one, or be sold. I agree with you, I think we’ll cash in
Leighton James on Fabianski on 12:40 - Apr 27 with 3724 views | hobo | We'd not get much for him at 33 years of age. The cost of a replacement would be far higher, so it wouldn't be worth it
Leighton James on Fabianski on 13:38 - Apr 27 with 3674 views | jack247 | We’re going to have to replace him in a year anyway unless we can get him on a new deal
Leighton James on Fabianski on 14:11 - Apr 27 with 3635 views | hobo | I expect he'll be signing a new 2 year contract should we stay up, which gives us a couple of seasons to find his replacement
Leighton James on Fabianski on 14:37 - Apr 27 with 3617 views | jack247 | I’d far rather we extend his contract than sell him. We can’t afford another Ki scenario though
Leighton James on Fabianski on 14:42 - Apr 27 with 3610 views | JACKMANANDBOY | Oh no....... C.C. "Huw we'll need a new goalie soon". Huw " I'll get you six"

Leighton James on Fabianski on 16:12 - Apr 27 with 3566 views | Ambergambler | Ffs, he hardly has time to breathe in some of our games! 'His goal stopping is superb' - enough said
Leighton James on Fabianski on 16:19 - Apr 27 with 3551 views | swancity | Probably Fabianski is Swansea's best ever goalkeeper. By some distance as well. Very few that come close even. Some people think Freestone for example was close. He was a lower league keeper for one main reason. That is he wasn't quite good enough to play in the 1st division. Poor kicking and distribution and lacked the athleticism and agility you see at the top. A Swans legend of that era nonetheless.

Leighton James on Fabianski on 22:22 - Apr 27 with 3414 views | oldcob | I think Jimmy Rimmer was as good as Fab, and Noel Dwyer slightly better, but it's unfair to compare present day keepers with keepers of years ago. Years ago the ball would come straight at you and not swerve in the air. That's why the ball isn't caught cleanly as much with present day keepers, the ball swings around so much. On the other hand they weren't nursed by referees in the past as they are today. Can't even look hard at them now.
Leighton James on Fabianski on 22:28 - Apr 27 with 3397 views | theloneranger | Thank f*ck none of these modern day keepers came up against Trevor Ford
| Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎 |
