What's the situation if we lose an appeal? Any possibility it would be increased?

I'd stick with what we got, Sanchez isn't gonna offer us much I'm sorry to say.

This is the FA. Not the FAW

Increased if deemed frivolous. I saw it when it happened and I thought it could have been a yellow but also a red, borderline so to speak. Lots if others think it was really harsh so probably it wouldn't be a frivolous appeal.

I'll have to see it again but from what I remember I don't think there's much chance it will be overturned.

As clear as the reciprocal nature of the tackle is, I'm not sure that "he did it too" is grounds for an appeal.

Think we're just going to have to take this one.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

If deemed a frivolous appeal then yes it could be increased

Exactly- how that wasn't a red God only knows.

The tackle on Ki and the stamp on Ayew are totally and utterly irrelevant to any appeal.

I thought it was a definite red at first sight, but so many are saying no, then it might be worth a shot. Lets see what trial by MOTD brings. That's normally what the FA uses to decide.

Depending if you might blame the conditions causing it, and it wasn't intentional for either player.

It's rash and it's high. Not sure there's enough to overturn it.

He caught him on the shin with his follow through of that there is no question.

Whether by the letter of the law that constitutes dangeroud play I have doubts. He wasn't out of control and his other leg and his arm were on the ground. I don't think it was excessive force as it was a 50/50, he arguably got the ball first and just caught him on the follow through.

That said, I don't think we win any appeal but I would certainly be trying.

I know. I was just harking back to the days when the FAW used to joyfully increase punishments for us in the lower leagues. You know, the leagues that Cardiff and Newport play in.

Would be a serious waste of our time.

The issue is that Ayew leaves the ground and jumps and lunges into the tackle, and is deemed to be out of control with excessive force. This is what the referee used to make his red card decision.

That rule no longer exists (I think).

Correct. It was in place when appeals took much longer and teams would sometimes use an appeal to delay a suspension.

As the process is much quicker now they don’t need the rule anymore.

Red all day long but injustice that Hogg got away with it not to mention the one on Ki.

They're not going to take any other incidents into account if we appeal.

The only possible chance we have is if we claim that Ayew only caught Hogg because Hogg had dived in recklessly. Even, then, I can't see us winning it.

When feelings were high during the game, I felt like "How can that be justified"
Watched it a few times on MOTD and TBH felt both players should have gone or both yellows.
Both were dangerous and reckless challenges.
I would just move on and be proud of how we responded if I was CC

In the interests of the game he could have given two yellows. Two reds would have also been reasonable but just punishing one player when the other visibly stamped on Ayew was not fair at all.
