I was shocked on saturday how dire he was, he missed some good oppurtunities first Half, second Half he was clean though tried chipping the keeper and it spooned off and didnt even go out for a throw! Absolutley awful How the hell he has started tonight in front of all the other strikers Is beyond me Probably because he runs the most in training! Terrible terrible player all he can do Is run
Long is truly profligate and wastes so many opportunities (and is so unreliable in front of goal), but on another thread they are blaming Ward-Prowse and Davis. Earlier in the season we were blaming Forster. Gabbiadini is a shadow of the player we purchased. They cannot all be bad players at once. Last years manager and this years manager has sucked the belief, the confidence and even the ability out of the squad.

True - shane long was of use to us when we played a pressing game and he was playing alomgside a striker who could capitalise on the errors which his running forced 2 succesive managers have tried playing him As a lone cf- He doesnt have any of the qualities required to play that role! Its not longs fault Question Is - whos told puel & pelegrino to play that way, or has it both been the managers choices
I think i've been very patient with Pellegrino to date. I wanted to think with a little help he might be able to turn things around but after today I've concluded he really is quite clueless. When I first saw the starting line up I was quite stunned. 4 of your most expensive players, including your new striker on the bench, for a MUST WIN game to ease the very real threat of relegation. What? Does it take a football genius to know that you should play your best players? I'm sorry but this has been the tipping point for Pellegrino for me. 1 win in 12 games, 4 wins in the entire season to date is unacceptable for this team. We are now at the point where we have a young central defender out scoring our 1st pick striker in Shane Long. To be honest I don't blame the players as much as I think Pellegrino should take responsibility for our form. I watched a You Tube video of Carrillo scoring goals for Monaco last season and pretty much all of them he was scoring opportunist goals from a central position in the box. Needless to say when the substitutions came I was surprised. He replaced him with Tadic and put him out of position on the left? Why take off Romeu and Tadic? If it were me I would not have included Davis or Long in today's starting line up, and had Boufal and Carrillo in there to begin with. Stating the obvious here but while I congratulate Jack Stephens on getting another goal, Saints performance simply was not good enough. Every game we don't win makes relegation that much more promising. I've heard some fans say relegation of the team might prove to be a good thing for us, but I think that's absolute tosh. We fought long and hard to get back into the Premier League, and if you're telling me after 6 years in the PL that we should be going down, I think you need your head read. There is still enough time to turn things around but my optimism is beginning to wane. I know it probably won't happen but Pellegrino should not be managing our club.
The patience Mp has recieved Is totally unwaranted and undeserved Hes shown nothing to suggest he is capable The starting line up tonight for a must win game was beyond belief! We had 4 central midfielders starting! Its like banging your head against a brick wall, we can all see that he Will take us down But still no change Will.be made Even if he is sacked we then have to wait for les reed to spend weeks finding a replacement Truly depressing times
your all blaming players and managers, and missing the elephant in the room is being ignored The deliberate policy of selling our best players and managers off every season, and replacing them, if at all, with players of lesser ability has gradually downgraded the team.
LES REED has mugged off the owners and fans of this club
doing the same thing only results in the same thing
I think he deserved some patience because in all fairness it's my belief that there has not been enough meaningful investment into the team in recent seasons, more reactionary buys in the January window. A very good manager would arguably be able to deal better with this and after today I am utterly convinced that Pellegrino exacerbates the problem. I don't think he knows how to best utilize his players. However I think you are very right. By Christmas the writing was definately on the wall for me.

Hes safeguarded his own position hasnt he tho by becoming director of the new holding company? Who does he answer to!? End of the day he brings in high fees for sales, clearly thats all the owners are bothered about
I agree with you, I've always thought that this was the root of the problem too. Now we are seeing the effects. I was cynical, but once our good run under Koeman started I had hoped that might kick start some investment into the team, after all they said their target was to qualify for Europe. (more meaningless trite after seeing the acquisitions the following summer) How they could not see their revolving door policy was a house of cards is beyond me.

No, that's not true. You can have the worst players of all time in your squad, no problem with that. But the other thing is to have a manager that picks him week in, week out and gives him opportunities for a year to score some when. It is beyond believe for how many games Long kept Austin out of the team without assisting and scoring. It doesn't need a genius to work this out - but well, MP is really very far from being one.

Yes, only one individual is behind this shambles - NASTY UNCLE LES! Not the owners. Not the supine manager. Not the vacuous overpaid miscreants we call players. Not all of the problems our club has added together. LES REED ALONE! You must know that isn’t true Pat. If you want to cry crocodile tears for our poor owners who have been deceived by crafty Les then go for it but it makes you look incredibly bitter. Les has served his purpose and should go along with a host of others for mistakes made over the last 3 years. If he goes then maybe the fans can move on from their obsession with him and we can stop talking about the bloke FFS
To a degree yes but ultimately the owners bare the responsibility for this. Liebher for her decision to sell us an absoloute pup in this goa character, whilst lining her own bank account very nicely. All that corporate bollox her mouth piece sprouted about gao providing us with the necessary finance to progress us further. Their policy has been simple, sell any player of quality and buy cheaply. And their support of reed, this chancer has been pitiful and stubbornly backed into a corner with his clown of a manager. And what is the point of kruger? Anove all the dealings ( lack of them) this transfer window have been a fckng disgrace.

Those 2 don't mix well!!! The same players have been motivated and inspired before, which leads to the 1 common denominator that has to go, the Manager.
