Reintegration will be hard, hard for country, club, and fan base. It'll test Les, test Pelligrino, above all test the player himself. If we do it, I hope we don't resort to Pompey like booing of him.
We'll also have to discourage Wassermans, and Liverpool FC from destabilising him. Perhaps the signing of fellow Dutchman, Hoetd, will help. That Dutch combination could prove to be one of the better central defensive combos in the PL.

doing the same thing only results in the same thing
I can't remember a transfer window when quite so many self-entitled c*nts have publicly and vociferously kicked off about their desperation to leave their already-massive salaries and pampered lifestyles in search of even more money. Van Dijk, Drinkwater, Mahrez, Barclay, Sakho, Coutinho, Arnautovic, probably others too.
Footballers really are spoilt brats.

It's no credit to him though is. He only does what he's instructed to do. Likewise he can't be blamed for lack of signings. VVD is a strange one. I can't quite see why we've kept him, it's obviously all to do with the takeover but was it Liebherr who made it a condition of sale or the Chinese a condition of purchase. And why? He will be sold in January. That is a certainty.
HAng on a minute, whenever anything goes wrong whenever a player is sold people are all over forums blaming les Reed. If it's his fault when it goes wrong it must be his credit when it goes Right.

A lot of things are Reeds fault, I.E Koeman getting peed off, and other managers being undermined once they start to establish themselves. Basically once that happens it begins to undermine Reed and threatens his security. What we sell and the amount we spend is way above his head.
Your thought process at times, is really beyond belief. Our managers start doing what Les Reed employed them to do, then he destroys all their good work for his own security. Unbelievable !!!

It's not unbelievable at all, it's completely logical. Directors of football are a bad thing in my book. I've never bought into it. It's just a new fangled idea of progress that isn't needed. A good manager once established doesn't need a Les Reed. Reed is a clever operator and he knows this.
And Les is VP of football. Pretty much the number one guy at the club on football matters but you say "player decisions happen way above his head". I should think he reports to the owners so there really isn't much room above his head. I would expect he's in charge of a football budget. How he manages that budget is very much down to him. Have a go at him if you like, but at least keep it realistic.

No way would Reed have the power to refuse the sale of Van Dyke. That's a decision either made by Liebherr, the Chinese, or both. I'd suggest it was the Chinese, as its unprecedented under Liebherr.
You'll never get van Dijk, virgil Van Dijk I think you finally understand You believed all that sh*t, You ever tracked a flight You're not getting virgil Van Dijk

If it was me, I would not have pissed Koeman off, and he would have honoured the rest of his contract, and possibly signed a new one. Instead we had a season of Puel's shite foisted upon us. And why has Clasie been frozen out, nothing to with the fact that he was signed on Koeman's recommendation by any chance? He's a far better player than Holberg. For me, if Reed was f*cked off out of it we'd see a much happier atmosphere at the club. Look at the face on Bertrand recently for inspiration. There isn't any

For VVD, he would do well to change his agent because too much bad feeling has been generated between this agent and the Saints management. That would be a constructive move. Additionally, this may be a good one-off stand by Saints but the power of the agents will not be diminished in the near future. Their objective is to move a player 3 or 4 times in a 10 year period and the player is easily persuaded. They highlight to the player the vast amounts of TV revenue received by the clubs and that they should get their share and not be exploited. This is a strong message.
good to see us not get walked all over like we have in the past
will have to see how VVD reacts now, but hope he follows the examples of Wanyama and Schneiderlin who the club made stay for an extra season and apart form Victor getting sent off too many times generally played well during that period
