On a vaguely related note I do think it's terribly wrong to destroy old statues and war monuments to the dead because the historical people involved are not compatible to modern ideals.

I might be being overly cynical but I think the pulling down of these statues by these groups are intended more as a provocation to the other side rather than a deep set objection to the historical figures.
Also the waving of nazi memorabilia by the other side is more likely to be intended to provoke and wind up the opposition rather than the deep set desire for the Deep South of America to overturn the effects of the Versailles treaty, unite all Germanic peoples and create more living space for them all to live in for the next thousand years.
In conclusion it's two groups of incredibly stupid human beings prodding each other with sticks and we should be pointing and laughing at all of them whilst shouting what a bunch of hilarious stupid dicks if it wasn't for the fact people are getting hurt and dying.

1 - not automatically in every case, no. 2 - no. trump should have used his position and influence to roundly and unequivocally condemn white supremacy and white supremacists. But he didn't. Well he did but that was after he was forced into it then roundly backtracked 24 hours later. Probably because he agrees with them. 3 - NJ is a big boy and I've no doubt he can answer for himself if he has the desire to do so. That's up to him.
Now, I'm popping out for a while and may not be back for a bit. Please don't take my absence as "proof" that you've "won". Or you can if you want. I'm not that bothered.
1 a- Does it depend on if it's your side committing the violence or not? 1 b- Do you support 20year old millennial brats, in masks, with weapons taking the law into their own hands?
2 - I'm glad the most powerful man in the world is not as partisan as you, whatever else he may be.
3 - I'm not asking you to stand up for Neath Jack. I'm asking you to stand up for your principles, if they are your principles. So again, please, loud enough for the tape...should ANYONE who accuses someone else of being racist (or anything else for that matter) back up their claim, or retract and apologise?

1a - partly yes. But as you've said, both sides committed violence on this occasion. Throughout history, violence has been used as a means of achieving political aims. There are scores of examples so it'd be silly to denounce ALL political violence. But it's fairly obvious that a person's view of whether that violence can be justified or not will depend on whether they're sympathetic to the cause.
1b - I don't know what a "millennial brat" is. I'm assuming it's the kind of identity politics youbreckon you have no time for. But anyway, on principle I wouldn't support vigilantism but again I can envisage that there could be situations in which I could feel that it's justified.
2 - You don't think trump is "partisan". Ha ha ha ha and, indeed, ha.
3.- I could quite happily call you a racist and not feel that I'd have to back it up. It might be just an opinion I had formed from reading your posts. I'm not saying I think you're a racist (although I'm not saying I don't think you're a racist either) just that if I did I wouldn't feel beholden to back my opinion up or apologise.
Let me boil this down for you. I am happy to absolutely and without equivocation condemn white supremacists, neo nazis, the KKK and anyone else who considers themselves superior to or of a higher race to someone else purely because their skin is white. The very concept it's ridiculous to me. I absolutely won't offer the same condemnation to anyone who stands up to oppose these people.
