Would you take Andre Ayew back? 19:50 - Jul 20 with 8428 views | jedmo_jack | With West Ham looking like signing Arnautovic and Hernandez, surely no room at the inn for Andre? Obviously knows the club and would link up with his brother, so seems like an easy transition for him while being a valuable asset to the club I believe, especially if Siggy goes. Would you take back the former jack favourite? Miss his little chant...

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 22:12 - Jul 20 with 1865 views | Tummer_from_Texas | So then we use him for a year, and then sell him at enough profit to more than cover his wages while he was here. Worked out pretty well last time, and unlike Bony, there's really no indication that his skills have slipped at all.

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 23:55 - Jul 20 with 1799 views | jasper_T | The period during which he scored almost all of his goals our overall play and results were absolute shite, and he contributed to that as much as the scoresheet. He only scored a couple during the run that saved our season.
Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 03:22 - Jul 21 with 1740 views | Tummer_from_Texas | Huh, think so? OK, let's test that theory by taking a quick look back at 2015/2016... August - Swans record 2W-2D-0L (8 points) Ayew scored 3 goals: wins over Man U (2-1) and Newcastle (2-0), draw @ Chelsea. Sept - Swans record 0W-1D-2L (1 pt) Ayew scored no goals. In fact Swansea had only one goal that month: a meaningless Sigurdsson penalty in a 2 goal loss at Southampton. Oct - Swans record 1W-1D-2L (4 pts) Ayew scored 2 goals: draw vs Tottenham and the late winner (2-1) @ Villa. Nov - Swans record 0W-1D-2L (1 pt) Ayew scored 1 goal, which sparked a 2 goal comeback to draw vs Bournemouth. Dec - Swans record 1W-2D-2L (5 pts) No goals for Ayew. Jan - Swans record 2W-0D-2L (6 pts) 2 goals for Ayew: 1 in the ref-induced loss to Sunderland (the only time, ever, Ayew would score a goal in a loss) and the 2-1 win @ Everton. Also in that Everton contest, Andre made one of the most memorable, intelligent "hustle" plays of the season when his quick thinking forced a penalty by Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard. So Ayew was really responsible for both goals in that critical victory. Feb - Swans record 0W-2D-2L (2 pts) Ayew had no goals. Mar - Swans record 3W-0D-1L (9 pts) Ayew had no goals because he was injured March 5 and missed the rest of the month. Apr - Swans record 1W-1D-2L (4 pts) Again no Ayew goals May - Swans record 2W-1D-0L (7 pts) Ayew finishes very strong with 4 goals in 3 games: a brace in a win vs Liverpool (3-1), a goal in the win @WHU (4-1), and the goal in our season-ending draw vs Man City. Worth noting, given the fact we are in serious danger of losing Siggy: that final goal was a free kick goal, the only one of those scored by someone OTHER than Siggy in who knows how long? Also worth noting: 8 of his 12 goals came against Chelsea, ManU, Man City, Liverpool (2), Everton, Tottenham, and West Ham. And we got results in ALL of those games, so Ayew was a big reason that we had a decent record against the big boys. Yes, he missed most of March due to injury, and during that time the Swans had 2 big home wins against bad opponents we shouldn't have needed him for anyway (Norwich and Villa). But the Swans record when Ayew scored his goals was 6 wins, 4 draws, and only 1 loss (22 points). And we lost to the referee more than we did our crappy opponent (Sunderland) that day. Subtract Ayew's goals and the penalty he drew on Howard, our record in those same 11 games falls to 2 wins, 3 draws, and 6 losses (9 points). Conversely, our record when Andre DIDN'T score was 6 wins, 7 draws, and 14 losses. So in summary, Andre was HUGE in 2015/2016. Without him, we are playing in the Championship now. I think you can say that as much about him as you can about Llorente last season, or Sigurdsson the last 2 seasons. [Post edited 21 Jul 2017 3:42]

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 05:19 - Jul 21 with 1708 views | Dr_Winston | If you're going to refute an argument, do it in style. You're right though. The idea that Ayew was responsible for our poor form that season was nonsense then, and even more so now. There's only one reason we were shite that season and it's currently in charge of Middlesbrough.

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 07:42 - Jul 21 with 1606 views | Whiterockin | To move forward we no longer need squad players, we need players who are pushing for a starting place.

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 08:17 - Jul 21 with 1582 views | ItchySphincter | An excellent analysis but it doesn't change the fact that we we relatively poor all around, due to a rookie manager attempting to reinvent the wheel. We were horrible to watch and it's continued to this day because we had unsuitable players for the way we play and Ayew was one of them. Heartbreaking.

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 08:37 - Jul 21 with 1565 views | dameedna | Match winner on a bad day. Be surprised if west ham entertain bids. Id keep him if i was west ham. Proven performer. Hopefully he will link up with us in the future.
Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 09:30 - Jul 21 with 1545 views | Dewi1jack | A traffic cone would be an improvement on Dyer. IMHO! A. Ayew back here would be pushing for a starting place and eager for a move for another big signing on fee, so willing to put himself on show. Definitely makes the squad stronger, but the price has to be right for the club, certainly not what Wet Spam paid! Reckon there'd be more profit to be made with Ayew 2 in the future, providing we could get for under £15 million. [Post edited 21 Jul 2017 9:35]

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 12:27 - Jul 21 with 1444 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | He was our leading goalscorer as he, whether under instruction to or not, would constantly encroach in other players positions, hampering our attacks. Gylfi was even more irrelevant most games from open play as Ayew would be a couple of yards form him most of the time.

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 12:34 - Jul 21 with 1426 views | MarinaJack | seeing as Gylfi appears to be off , that won't be a problem this year but scoring goals will be Unless your expecting our goal a phobic wide players to start banging them in for fun this season
Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 12:36 - Jul 21 with 1427 views | MrSwerve | What's with the total obsession of NOT wanting players back? Not that I think that we should bring A.Ayew back, but people seem very reluctant to 'go back' even if it would clearly improve the team. See the abuse that Joey Allen got when it was touted that he may move back here...and would clearly improve the squad. People got pelters for suggesting that he would be a good signing.

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 18:31 - Jul 21 with 1355 views | Yossarian | Taking him back is a pie dream. He didn't like the City, he avoided all the community obligations and told a number of people that he'd made a huge mistake when he'd only been here a few weeks. However, in fairness to him, his attitude on the pitch was always committed and professional a he did more than most to ensure we stayed up last year! He tried his best for the team till the end, and I for one didn't begrudge him the chance to earn big money at West Ham and give us a windfall into the bargain. He was totally unsuited to us and he knew it- not his fault but GM's and the Director of Football. The Swansea Way? They did more than anything to destroy what they had previously been selling to anyone prepared to listen to them!
| "Yossarian- the very sight of the name made him shudder. There were so many esses in it. It just had to be subversive" (Catch 22) |

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 18:40 - Jul 21 with 1343 views | LeonWasGod | Whilst true, (a) he carried us up top for large parts of the season, and not just goals but doing all the clever stuff, and (b) few players have generated profits for us more than Ayew. A team full of Ayews would be a disaster, but having one mercenary who contributes during the season and then we offload at a huge profit isn't so bad. Wouldn't want him back though.
Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 19:06 - Jul 21 with 1313 views | DazzaJack | Never really fitted into the formations we played, however, proved himself as a goal scorer in the permier league, which can be hard to come by, and one of the most technically gifted players i've seen in a Swans shirt for ball control, cool head under pressure. Very good footballer, his brother also looks to possess similar traits on the ball. Probably on crazy high wages, and still doesn't really fit our formation.
Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 19:15 - Jul 21 with 1305 views | jasper_T | Andre Ayew and his agent made more of a profit than Swansea City. The fees they raked in coming and going were obscene.

Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 18:39 - Jul 22 with 1179 views | jack247 | He didn't really fit the formation under Monk. Looked better under the more tactically astute Guidolin but still drifted too much. It wouldn't surprise me if Clement was able to accommodate him. It's a non starter though and we don't always have to chase our ex players.
Would you take Andre Ayew back? on 18:40 - Jul 22 with 1174 views | Davillin | There should be a vote for posts with 5 stars or 10 stars. I do not intend to denigrate any posters or posts, but in all sports, there are players who can score, but who drag down the rest of the team to do it. André. I called him "The flag to flag to flag player."
