Just resigned. Seems odd to me.

FFS we're never gonna get rid of Bartley now.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

So much for this...

Leeds to extend Garry Monk's contract by a further 12 months.

Club accepts Garry Monk's resignation

Leeds United can confirm that we have received Garry Monk’s resignation from his role as First Team Manager.

We are shocked and disappointed by Garry’s decision but his resignation has been reluctantly accepted by Chairman Andrea Radrizzani.

Andrea made it clear to the media yesterday that his intention was to exercise the Club's option to extended the Manager's contract for another 12 months and immediately begin negotiations for a longer term deal.

Mr Radrizzani has met with Garry twice since taking over at Elland Road earlier this week and during the second meeting yesterday it became clear that Garry was considering life beyond Leeds United as at no time did Garry wish to discuss terms for a longer contract.

Following that meeting yesterday Garry’s agent requested that the option was not exercised and his resignation was received this morning.

Whilst we are deeply saddened by Garry’s decision, there is no individual bigger than our Club and we will now begin a process to identify and appoint a new Head Coach to take the club to the next level.

We thank Garry for his contribution during his time at Leeds United, we are disappointed that we could not continue on this journey together.

Done well at that basket case of a club, whilst all the so called experts on here were predicting him to be sacked after a month or two.

Hopefully he will get a job at one of the premier league clubs that have become available.

Good luck Monkey, one of the clubs all time great servants.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

I wish him good luck, but hopefully not at a PL club, just so I don't have to root against him.

He'd be a fool to take on Boro/Sunderland.

Watford/Palace most likely.

Sunderland or Hull I expect. Not as big a club as Leeds but from his perspective he'll feel a lot more stable there

Been heavily linked to the Boro job.

Bit of a diversion? Sorry if so to some, but that Pep Clotet?.... if he gets another shoe-in at another club this year courtesy of Monk? Since from 2001 - 2017 it'll be TWELVE tenures at various different clubs, call the Guinness Book Of Records, what a comedy CV!

It certainly seems that he's been approached by someone and to be fair he's done a pretty steady job at Leeds. Up until the final few weeks they looked nailed on for a play-off place. I think it has to be a PL club and Southampton would be a pretty good shout imo.

We shouldn't all be tarred with the same brush you know!

I disagree about Boro

Steve Gibson one of the best owners about IMO

Sunderland is definitely a basket case but whoever turns it round will be a God up there (same could be said about Leeds)

Leeds fans got to be hurting with that, imagine Clement decided to drive off into the moonlight after this season.

Has to be a Prem team surely and I wouldn't bet against it being Southampton.

Change of ownership may have something to do with it and so might Fat Sam's resignation from Palarse

hahahaha.. think he will follow Monk to the next job, wonder who tapped him up?

Can't remember people thinking he would only last a month, i think most thought that was more his level while he was learning his craft, if anything lasting just a short time was probably more a reference to the way the owner hired and fired than Monks ability, and thats speaking as somebody who thought he should never have ever been anywhere near the Swans job.
