Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 08:58 - Mar 29 with 5322 views | trampie | Brexit is a "significant and material change" not just for Scotland but Northern Ireland also, they are both getting dragged out of the EU against the peoples wishes in those countries. In time, Scotland might breakaway and N.Ireland might merge with the Republic of Ireland all on the back of Brexit, hence today might not only be the breaking up of the EU day but the breaking up of the UK day also.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 09:01 - Mar 29 with 5313 views | blueytheblue | Neither Scotland nor NI are in the EU, trampie. UK is. It was a UK vote. I know that's difficult to grasp, but (g)nats whining Scotland has been "dragged" out is as relevant as a small village making the same claim. In the event Scotland did have a Neverendum, it's also worth pointing out all polls other than one in the last month in Jockland have indicated people wish to remain in the UK. Sturgeons's antics more likely to irritate the electorate she needs to convince to leave the UK. Nobody likes a sore loser.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 09:08 - Mar 29 with 5289 views | trampie | Sure, lots of ups and downs, lots of referendums won and lost but the direction of travel at this point suggests the end is nigh for the UK down the line, how far down the line who knows.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 09:10 - Mar 29 with 5289 views | blueytheblue | I'd say it's inevitable the union will dissolve at some point down the line. We just differ on when.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 12:44 - Mar 29 with 5204 views | blueytheblue | Many generations down the line, trampie. I can see devolution increasing in each of the constituent parts of the UK over time. Until the infrastructures are there for each constituent part, that part won't survive on it's own. If you agree WAG are hardly doing an amazing job at the moment with the limited devolved powers, then god forbid you'd want to hand them even more powers.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 14:11 - Mar 29 with 5123 views | blueytheblue | Who says I'm a Unionist trampie? I've said numerous times I'd love to kick the Jocks out. My point has been Scotland, N Ireland and Wales haven't the effective infrastructure at this point to stand alone. Generations down the line, that should change.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 14:24 - Mar 29 with 5113 views | trampie | You don't vote for the Conservative and unionist party then do you blueytheblue ?

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 14:31 - Mar 29 with 5102 views | blueytheblue | I vote for the party that aligns most closely with my beliefs, trampie. Only a blind sheep would be in utter agreement with every single party policy. My problem with the union is it can never be truly equal. England is vastly bigger in size, ridiculous to expect 3m Welsh to be equivalent to the population of England in representation. (G)nats seem to expect equal partnership.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 14:40 - Mar 29 with 5087 views | AnotherJohn | This was once an issue for the Left as well as the Right Tommy! “… people say, ‘All these burdens, all these political disabilities, all these derogations from our sovereignty, all this dismemberment of our parliamentary institutions … all that must be done because of the economic circumstances that face us. We have no other choice.’ I do not believe it … I say to our great country, ‘Don’t be afraid of those who tell us that we cannot run our own affairs, that we have not the ingenuity to mobilise our resources and overcome our economic problems.’ Of course we have. We can do that and save the freedom of our country at the same time.” (Michael Foot, Labour Devolution Conference on EEC, 1975). “I loathe the Common Market. It's bureaucratic and centralised, there's no political discussion, officials control ministers, and it just has a horrible flavour about it.” (Tony Benn, Diaries 1977-80)
Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 14:43 - Mar 29 with 5082 views | rock1n | Left/Right extremes dislike EU. The EU has been a force for moderation and pragmatism. If you're a centrist, this should be a sad day if you want a socialist republic or a right wing Nationalist utopia then crack open the champagne or probably more likely can of carling

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 14:47 - Mar 29 with 5071 views | AnotherJohn | Golly, I shall have to re-read some of your old posts RockIn, secure in the knowledge that you are a moderate! But you had better keep an eye on the 51.5% in Swansea who must be extremists.
Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 14:52 - Mar 29 with 5057 views | rock1n | I never said the 51.5% are extremists, I said by leaving the EU we've created the situation in which the extremes will benefit. I've stated many times that I think the referendum was an historic disaster. This is an unbelievably complex decision - it's not a binary choice. Millions saw it as a referendum on immigration/protest vote. Look at Stoke voted 70% to leave, then voted for labour again, that doesn't make much sense really does it.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 15:07 - Mar 29 with 5036 views | oh_tommy_tommy | Well yes you are correct, Have you seen them in there ,these dull f@cks in charge, have you seen them. May stands at that box every wednesday afternoon and lies through her teeth. I voted remain by the way , only just, my reason being i dont think they know what they are doing (going to do). At the ballot box , i had a shock who i saw out voting in my area, people i have know all my life . Immagration won the leave vote hands down.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 15:29 - Mar 29 with 5017 views | rock1n | Absolutely, it was a racist vote end of. About 35% of the leave vote was idealistic b.s around sovereignty the rest was people who voted based on being sick of bloody foreigners, working hard, paying tax, creating jobs, providing us with foreign muck.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 15:59 - Mar 29 with 4991 views | siralan | So if you wanted out of the EU you are a racist Are the remoaners ever going to stop spitting their dummy out? You can tell in the tone of their voice they are desperate for the negotiations to fail so they can say "told you so" putting their own pride before the national interest, which tells us everything we need to know about these types. Anyway 2 years from now and it will be done and dusted but I bet the pathetic remoaners will still be trying to put the country down.
