Goalkeeper situation 23:58 - Mar 11 with 9374 views | CanaDale | Firstly, this isnt a bashing of Wilson, its tough being an exile fan. How good is this lad? I know we have been conceeding a lot lately, I'm not saying he is at fault but is he any better than Logan? Is Logan injured, I know he was dropped due to bad form, but is it timento put him back in? Someone posted a stat about Wilson, he is yet to win a professional game? I know he has only just started, I just found that interesting.
Goalkeeper situation on 00:24 - Mar 12 with 7809 views | Daley_Lama | Logan is an excellent keeper. Unfortunately for him and Dale, he made some absolute clangers on the pitch of late and was dropped. Southend away: Poor kick that led to Keane being sent off (I wasn't there so cannot verify) Oxford home: Poor kick to gift them their 4th Huddersfield (Cup) Rochdale playing well ,2 chances missed, Logan poor kick gives them the lead just before half time. 3 games, three clangers, all kicking rather than keeping. 2 at home on a stinker of a pitch, first one was at game over. I personally haven't seen anything major to criticise Wilson. Back to Logan He is (last time seen for me) physically not match fit. He has put on timber. Others have said it far more blunter than that. But I rate him that highly, he would be back in between the sticks for me.

Goalkeeper situation on 05:38 - Mar 12 with 7742 views | CanaDale | Logan was always so comanding of his box, had the defence well marshalled, this for me made him the stand out.
Goalkeeper situation on 09:01 - Mar 12 with 7605 views | dingdangblue | Yeah, just this season (he's won a game with Cardiff and on loan at Wimbledon last season). 10 games now and no win. I asked for a bit of luck and instead he got a 91st min deflected equaliser.

Goalkeeper situation on 09:04 - Mar 12 with 7594 views | TVOS1907 | Don't forget Logan also mis-kicking the backpass v Oxford just before another of their goals and he should also have saved another of Huddersfield's. However, while Wilson hasn't done anything majorly wrong, he simply doesn't command his area or organise things as much as Logan, so I see no harm in making a change to see if it has a positive effect on results.

Goalkeeper situation on 09:11 - Mar 12 with 7570 views | 1907 | As I posted elsewhere MK's first goal was an absolute defensive shocker. Wilson doing his best superman punch and totally missing the ball. I can't really remember a season in recent memory where our own goalkeepers have contrived to cost us so many goals.
Goalkeeper situation on 10:14 - Mar 12 with 7484 views | ChaffRAFC | Conrad Logan simply isn't the same keeper as he was on the loan spell. I suspect the injury accounts for more than half of that reason. In his first spell he commanded his area and was more agile than he is now. With his snapped achilles, he seems to have lost his spring which will affect the way he deals with crosses and diving I'd imagine. His kicking has cost us goals and his lack of physical fitness also means he's struggling agility wise. The mistakes will affect his confidence and I really do suspect we'll see him released in the summer. Wilson doesn't look all that much better. He's pulled off a few very good saves but his kicking is awful and it's like watching Matt Gilks when he was with us. We've missed Josh Lillis more than we thought we would but even he is also called into question a lot and always has a two month spell where his form dips and we're calling for him to be dropped so if I was Hill, a goalkeeper would be very high on my priority list for the summer. Not just someone who can challenge for a spot but someone who can come in and play 46 games a season without being called into question. We've not had that for years.

Goalkeeper situation on 11:25 - Mar 12 with 7379 views | dingdangblue | Whilst I agree he was badly at fault at Southend and at home to Oxford and Huddersfield he also played in the 10 wins before that (discounting the tinpot trophy). I certainly don't think there would be much lost in giving him a 2nd chance. Wilson is average at best.

Goalkeeper situation on 11:37 - Mar 12 with 7363 views | fitzochris | Conrad Logan is a fantastic goalkeeper - commanding, confident and a terrific shot stopper. Like all keepers who find themselves this far down the football food chain, he is prone to the odd gaffe. Unfortunately, the odd gaffe for Conrad seems to have dented his confidence, leading to further gaffes and poor kicking. I compare when I saw him against Huddersfield recently to when he first came back against MK Dons. Night and day performances. Against MK Dons, he was my man of the match. I don't know what his injury accounts for, but I saw him at Hibs and he was unbelievable there. He won a Scottish Cup and their fans adore him. They don't give adoration out easily, that lot. Yes, he made a gaffe or two there n'all, but his good displays outweighed that. So, for me, his dropping here was done at the right time but it's gone on far too long now. He should have been back between the sticks at least three games ago. I'd like to know why he hasn't been and I'd also like to know why we're not using natural left backs at the moment. Oh and our defence still doesn't inspire me. Other than that, we look alreet (as of the Sheff U game at any rate). [Post edited 12 Mar 2017 20:23]

Goalkeeper situation on 12:40 - Mar 12 with 7278 views | 49thseason | A busted Achilles is a horrible injury for someone who needs to jump, you lose some of the power and spring and end up depending on the other leg. When I did mine, the specialist told me that he didn't know a footballer that ever got back to full fitness, mind you that was 30 years ago so I guess things have moved on. When watching Logan I have occasionally wondered if he has lost some jumping power and I guess putting on weight will not have helped. I also wondered if his kicking has been affected because of a touch of weakness in his left leg. here is no doubt that for me I would prefer Logan at 90% to Wilson at the moment as he seems to instil a confidence in defenders that I think we need.

Goalkeeper situation on 13:24 - Mar 12 with 7190 views | robbowood | Wilson seems harldy ever to comes off his line, not least for corner kicks, and doesn't command his area. His kicking in finding our players over the half-way line is not all that brilliant. He has made some excellent saves one on one I would have Logan back in for the rest of the season if given the choice What is does show is how consistent Josh was - he made the occasional error like all keepers (and the stick he got on this forum was utter nonsense !)
Goalkeeper situation on 13:47 - Mar 12 with 7160 views | borodale4 | Completely agree with this, it's embarrassing the size of him. The lad is a professional sportsman in 2017, to be the size he is, is completely unprofessional and he wouldn't be anywhere near my team until he's lost a decent amount of weight.
Goalkeeper situation on 20:14 - Mar 12 with 6935 views | nordenblue | He wouldn't have been dropped for several other keepers having only made "occasional" errors tbf.....

He's not perfect but he's a solid 7/8 out of 10 keeper at this level who need someone to challenge him for his spot. What he doesn't need is random keepers coming in on loan who are no better. Jones & Pereira being perfect examples.

Goalkeeper situation on 21:36 - Mar 12 with 6784 views | nordenblue | It's not hard to establish why,he's not been good enough during lots of games..... doesn't command his area well enough amongst other things consistently. There's reasons Hilly sees fit to bring in others to replace him numerous times, when he's out of the side people seem to remember him with rose tints,he's bang average at best for a league 1 keeper, if we have ideas of challenging at the top end of this league we need a better keeper in my eyes someone far more dominant.
Goalkeeper situation on 21:48 - Mar 12 with 6757 views | TVOS1907 | Which begs the question of why Hill gave him a two-year deal last summer...

Goalkeeper situation on 22:17 - Mar 12 with 6717 views | 442Dale | Which keepers in League 1 are that much better/more dominant than Lillis? Who has stood out this season? Not saying they don't exist, but who are they because I'm not aware of them! He has been player of the season at this level and while he's had spells when he's been justifiably left out, he's returned and performed well again. If there are keepers out there who are so much better and within our budget we should be after them and they can fight it out with Lillis for the shirt.

Goalkeeper situation on 22:46 - Mar 12 with 6679 views | nordenblue | A "fit" confident Logan is streets ahead and much more dominant,to be fair I don't study many keepers names for other teams so can't hand you a list of names off the top of my head 442,I could probably name you 10 former Dale keepers I rate higher in the last 20 years though, that's not really a compliment to his ability, that many of our keepers playing in league 2 were better....
Goalkeeper situation on 22:48 - Mar 12 with 6672 views | nordenblue | There's a few others you could put in that category too.....
Goalkeeper situation on 22:53 - Mar 12 with 6659 views | 442Dale | Yes, the Logan of two years ago was better. Situations change, much like thinking about keepers from the past. I honestly believe keepers in general are far less dominant and consistent these days, and with Lillis we have one that performs to a reasonable standard. 200+ games backs that up. That we can't think of any goalkeepers' names who are currently plying their trade sort of adds weight to much of that.

Goalkeeper situation on 06:15 - Mar 13 with 6500 views | nordenblue | I think the fact that Dale's keepers for a while have been less consistent in general leads you to believe that,a whole generation of goalkeepers hasn't suddenly become less consistent/dominant surely? The description "reasonable" suits him quite well, but if we've any plans of finishing higher up league 1 we need players who are better than "reasonable" though.....
