finally, it is here ......

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/world’s-first-production-road-and-a

for years, i have been thinking of owning a flying car. who didn't fly their matchbox cars around in the sky? i certainly did.
in the 1950's, the future predicted that everyone would have them parked on the driveway, but technology, price and legislation proved too difficult to get the projects of the ground. (see what i did there???)
and there were the odd (literally) attempts here and there.
and now this.
not cheap.
and only 90 available, so we're heading in the right direction.
i would need to turn kensington high street into a runway every now and again for it to be of any use to me, but still, the idea of a flying car does appeal to me.
just not a delorean. could never do 88mph anywhere in uk.

It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.

Load of tosh!

You can't land vertically and need a landing strip with enough clearance either side for the rotor blades.

Sounds like more bollo cks, in the feign of the Tiko 3D printer on kickstarter...... 3m dollars invested and it don't work. Lol

No problem with the gyrocopter concept, but can't see why the fck you'd go to the expense and weight of a second engine?

It's a helicopter.

With a car attached.

Both are not new concepts.

That's impressive, Pommy. I wonder how they did it? My best guess is simultaneous computer flight control, but that makes you wonder how they managed 100's of separate drones/radio frequencies, and also would that only be possible on a still night.

''Like Intel's display, the drones, which were fitted with different coloured LED lights and were controlled by a single computer, with routes pre-programmed.''

That's my wifes hometown and ChinaJohns residence for a few years. I can imagine my mother in law sitting in her nursing home thinking her mushroom soup is made with fly agaric.
