Match thread: Southend on 17:08 - Jan 14 with 2763 views | richfoad32 | That's a sickener, but as events have shown us this weekend there's more important things in life than football. Try to keep it in perspective
Match thread: Southend on 17:11 - Jan 14 with 2698 views | DorsetDale | At 1 each I thought to myself rather go for the win and risk losing then KH made those subs and I knew I was right

Match thread: Southend on 17:14 - Jan 14 with 2624 views | Shun | I would've definitely settled for a point, and a good one, rather than go for the win, but that's easy to say with hindsight. Anyway, that now makes it 3000 league games without a draw.

Match thread: Southend on 17:15 - Jan 14 with 2617 views | frenzied | Weve fallen foul of the late goal as per earlier in the season. However then as now our performance sounded good enough to deserve more,..swings and roundabouts..our second against Shrews was debatable and they poss deserved a draw against us. Now we have 3 home league games ahead plus the cup game ..so a good return on points 7 would be fab and a cup win and we move on.
Match thread: Southend on 17:22 - Jan 14 with 4696 views | 442Dale | True but it's more about those below us. With a minute to go we were six clear of 7th with a game in hand. Now it's three points, more a psychological thing.

Match thread: Southend on 17:22 - Jan 14 with 4693 views | soulboy | Bang on, back in August we'd all have settled for 5th in the league mid Jan and 4th round the round of FA cup
Match thread: Southend on 17:23 - Jan 14 with 4678 views | fitzochris | Agreed. Fleetwood cut the gap also.

Match thread: Southend on 17:28 - Jan 14 with 4620 views | Shun | Indeed, a good opportunity to put some space between us and the play-off chasers below. After that though we have some really tough games in mid-late February- Fleetwood, Bolton and Peterborough away and Millwall at home.
Match thread: Southend on 17:29 - Jan 14 with 4580 views | D_Alien | Not impressed with posts giving trite 'reasons to be cheerful' - not least since the vast majority of us don't need that kind of cajoling Save it for the kids

Match thread: Southend on 18:25 - Jan 14 with 4037 views | dingdangblue | Its never nice to lose in the 93rd minute - and even worse to a team just below you in the league - the way they won it can only give them a massive boost of confidence. We now need to bounce back straight away against Oxford next week.

Match thread: Southend on 19:00 - Jan 14 with 3842 views | johndale | we've had a good run and had our fair share of last minute winners
Match thread: Southend on 19:12 - Jan 14 with 3761 views | dingdangblue | Obviously it was a delayed manager of the month curse and the Barrow Cup game didn't count Awful ground for us is Roots Hall , I certainly cant remember us winning there? Even when we've been 3-0 up at ht and we ended up 3-3.

Match thread: Southend on 19:12 - Jan 14 with 3769 views | SteTsGoldenBoot | Its been a sh!t week for the club, especially those who were close to Mrs P and Josh. It sounds like the lads did all they could, but sometimes its just not meant to be. I couldn't be any prouder to be a Dale fan at the minute and if as Team Rochdale we have give one second of comfort to the heart broken families, that's all that matters.

Match thread: Southend on 19:59 - Jan 14 with 3563 views | 1mark1 | Listening to the match on radio, there seamed to be a lot of moaning by both sets of players trying to get opposition players booked or sent off. It's an obnoxious side to the game of football. About time that the only player allowed to approach a ref or other official is the captain, and then only in a calm responsible way. Surely this crowding of refs is a poor example to kids watch the game.

Match thread: Southend on 20:08 - Jan 14 with 3519 views | TVOS1907 | Henderson was very clever for McGlashan's second yellow card.

Match thread: Southend on 20:08 - Jan 14 with 3518 views | DySporting | Bet it doesn't show the three occasions the ref was surrounded by Southend players trying to get Lund sent off. Ref booked Logan correctly for his reaction but failed to book several Southend players for doing the same.
Match thread: Southend on 20:12 - Jan 14 with 3490 views | 442Dale | Yeah, they commented on the radio how poor it was that Southend were doing it. As always, we can only sort ourselves and all that finger pointing didn't look great.

Match thread: Southend on 20:17 - Jan 14 with 3436 views | YouTubeDale | Sounded like Southend more than crossed the line today. The ref was in two minds, it seemed, to send Keane off and then came Anton Ferdinand to have a word in his ear and out came the red. McNulty was a covering player so Keane wasn't the last man and the attacker didn't have a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Wordsworth went down in dramatic style trying to get Lund sent off for a second yellow early in the second half. They were trying to con the ref and using too much verbal force. Logan got booked for the verbals but they weren't given the same treatment. We had quite a few good chances, even after they went 2-1 up, right at the end, Hendo had a great chance. But it wasn't to be. Dale Player said no team deserved to lose.

Match thread: Southend on 20:22 - Jan 14 with 3422 views | frenzied | Very unlike Keane to make such an error..and Conrads kicking is usually very reliable..well taken second goal for them..im sure they were very pumped up after Sheff Utd thumped them last week..not often we see 4 of the top 5 all lose
Match thread: Southend on 20:26 - Jan 14 with 3402 views | 442Dale | Hill didn't have many problems with the red card. While there's no excuse for what Southend did, and the ref should clamp down on such things, he shouldn't have to put up with the way we reacted ahead of that second yellow either.

Match thread: Southend on 20:26 - Jan 14 with 3402 views | DySporting | Southend were very poor at it. Ref wasn't strong enough.
Match thread: Southend on 20:29 - Jan 14 with 3372 views | TVOS1907 | How do you know the ref was in two minds about the red card?

Match thread: Southend on 20:31 - Jan 14 with 3354 views | 442Dale | It was refreshing to hear the regular condemnation of it on the radio commentary. Also, what exactly is the rule about the number of players questioning a decision? [Post edited 14 Jan 2017 20:32]
