Swans v Palace - Ninian Park - 70's. 18:37 - Dec 30 with 10990 views | porschejack | At the time , who in their right mind at the FA decided that a neutral ground to stage this replay should be in Cardiff ? It was a disaster waiting to happen - and as it turned out - it was . Anyone remember the carnage on the Bob Bank ? There would be questions asked if it happened today .

Swans v Palace - Ninian Park - 70's. on 23:49 - Dec 30 with 2549 views | awayjack | Yes we got stuck in traffic and a few jumped out of van and walked to make kick off. A few scum on street corners but no major trouble. Police took us to the open Grange end and amazing to see 90% of Bob bank go wild when we scored! Again groups waiting outside Grange exit after match but run off when they realised the numbers. Must have been timing but relatively tame by some 'away' matches in those days.

Swans v Palace - Ninian Park - 70's. on 00:42 - Dec 31 with 2447 views | barry_island | Some kind Cardiff fans helped a few of us climb into the ground from the railway sidings. Which was nice. Great fun for a couple of hours. I can't remember there being any Palace fans there if I'm honest but there were a few hundred of their lot on the Bob Bank, which again was nice. Dare I say it but quite a few of them were supporting us, a few hundred though were quite intent on causing us serious injury, and rather a crowd of ours were keen to reciprocate. I learned the game of dodge the flying Alsatian that evening as well. If I remember correctly the bloke who died was from West Cross.

Swans v Palace - Ninian Park - 70's. on 01:19 - Dec 31 with 2406 views | owainglyndwr | We had a double decker bus and a mini bus leaving Clydach. About 70odd of us aged between 16 and 30. We arrived at the grange end part of the ground and rouours of a Swans fan being killed circulated. Someone pointed out that a few of our mates got into a scrap on the Bob bank so we all jumped over the wall to get into the grange end. Well ...... with it being icy and which seemed to be well over a 100 people going over only to find that it was hell of a drop over the other side, I landed on my mates brother knocking him clean out. A couple of us made sure he was ok and tbe met up with tbe otbers in a middle of a scrap on the Bob bank which went o for ages until we scored and then Swans fans chased the cardiff fans off or away but it all stopped aftwr that goal.
Swans v Palace - Ninian Park - 70's. on 03:59 - Dec 31 with 2367 views | SwansNZ | I can't recall if it was snowing at the time, but there was plenty of snow on the ground. Big queue outside the grange end, I can't recall if all gates were closed until late or just 1 or 2 were open, but there were loads outside the ground. I think I got in 15-20 minutes after kick off, and didn't know we were 1-0 down until the announcer said the score at half time.

Swans v Palace - Ninian Park - 70's. on 05:40 - Dec 31 with 2354 views | dameedna | The game was all about stopping Vince Hilaire if I remember correctly. The build up was immense on and off the pitch and good riddance to the Palace dick.

Swans v Palace - Ninian Park - 70's. on 06:49 - Dec 31 with 2269 views | jackal | I remember walking to the ground in a group of about 200 Swans' fans. There was a local kid standing on his own, about 12 years old. He wanted to take us all on. I remember thinking that this kid is dangerously stupid.

Swans v Palace - Ninian Park - 70's. on 09:22 - Dec 31 with 2132 views | owainglyndwr | When we scored Swans fans turned the Cardiff fans . By then we were in the middle of the Bob bank. After the match our bus was on Cowbridge Rd in Canton. There was a good few scuffles at first but far to many of us. After the very last scuffle I made my way to the bus not realising that I was one of the last making my way back. Cardiff fans on a service bus tried grabbing me ln ripping ghe sleave of my jacket. I had to dap the driver and a cardiff fan who tried holding me on and by then aoad of the boys turned up to help. No police anywhere
