Puel Out on 23:04 - Dec 28 with 2567 views | washington_saint | Not ready to throw the towel in on Puel yet - but am bored to tears with his style of play. We looked great tonight when pressing and attacking first 15 - then we did what we always do......sat really, really deep with everyone behind the ball and ceding possession. Against the good teams, as we have seen, we will get beat every time. His 'style' of play is as dull as dishwater. Poor Jay - pretty much every time the ball was played up to him there was not a single Saints player within 30-40 yards of him. Pointless. I thought a Sunday League player would have done better than Long when he came on. What on earth has happened to him? Even the commentators over here on NBC were saying that he is a very conservative coach and we invite pressure.

Puel Out on 23:08 - Dec 28 with 2549 views | inthebox | What a load of crap, it's not the system or the manager, the players are responsible, if Hoijberg puts his chance away it's a different game.
Puel Out on 23:10 - Dec 28 with 2536 views | Boris_ | Shane Long hasn't turned in to a bad player overnight. Last season when he played off Pelle, he would be fed balls to run on to and use his pace. When he was up top on his own, balls were played over the top for him to chase. Puel's system of tippy tappy passing around the edge of the box wipes out Longs biggest attribute - his pace. He is the quickest player in the Premier League FFS!

Puel Out on 23:13 - Dec 28 with 2518 views | Bison | Well don't go and don't buy a season ticket then The answer is 2 games but I do get your point Dune. It's very frustrating at the moment.

Puel Out on 23:14 - Dec 28 with 2515 views | Boris_ | What game did you watch? We caught them napping at the start, then never had a look-in after. Spurs must have had 70% possession! The evening was summed up by Davis ( I think ) who absolutely sh!t himself when the ball fell to him on the edge of the box in the second half and looked like he wanted to do anything but shoot at the goal. Puel Out on 23:35 - Dec 28 with 2455 views | PatfromPoole | Have to agree with Boris. I still haven't got over the Beer Sheva fiasco. Puel may be paying the price for us having over-achieved in the last 3 seasons, but he is so negative against the top sides. We could have really made a statement tonight, but we just rolled over and let Tottenham dominate us. You could sense there was no belief in the crowd, the atmosphere sounded very poor on the telly.

Puel Out on 23:49 - Dec 28 with 2417 views | green | I don't understand what he's trying to do. As someone else says above - we looked good for about 15-20 mins when we were pressing and playing higher up the pitch but then we just sat back and it was inevitable that they would score again. Realistically, we're not going to sack Puel unless we end up in relegation trouble and who would be brought in anyway? We missed the best chance to appoint a better manager in the summer when we had the promise of Europa League football. I'm not calling for his head yet but we need to see some more purposeful football and a decent go in the League Cup semis.
Puel Out on 00:00 - Dec 29 with 2391 views | Del_Bianco | You could see what he was trying to do, get at them early, get an early goal and then draw them onto us, make us hard to break down and hit them on the break. It didn't work because Boufal has only been fit for a month and is still learning now to play In England, Rodriguez was isolated and for all his qualities he's still returning to for and fitness and even in his prime for us he wasn't at his best as a lone central striker, he was better playing a wide attacker in a 4-2-3-1. Redmond is just well Redmond, I'm. Yet to see anything from him to suggest he's got what it takes to be a top half player. All that plus our midfield was too lightweight, Wanyama and Sissoko dominated the midfield on d we sat off them. They got a lucky first goal and as soon as we went down to 10 it was a case of how many they'd get. For all the bed wetting first half they didn't really trouble us at all but for the goal which was a huge deflection. Had we gone in at half time 1-0 up then I think it would have been a different story.

Puel Out on 01:00 - Dec 29 with 2314 views | washington_saint | But that's the frustration with Puel. Its all safety first with very little flair and not attack minded. they were on the ropes and instead of trying to press home our advantage we went to the tactics you described. We are a horrible team to watch these days - so negative and risk averse. Hull, Boro, Sparta away, Hapoel home and away, Liverpool at home.....the list goes on where we are set up not to concede but take very few chances to attack. Who in their right minds would renew their STs next year if we continue to be served up this dross?
Puel Out on 01:04 - Dec 29 with 2312 views | larry12 | Les Reed is a total w*nker who has bought this squad. One midfield on the bench, complete total useless tosser is Les Reed. Reed out. Reed out . Reed out. Pointless midget tosser.
