Interesting line up for the 23s tonight. For who is left out as much as who is in.

Who is Plezier who is playing (and has scored) for us? Anyone know of him? I don't recall hearing his name before.

Seem to recall he was signed from a youth academy in holland this summer?? Was a bit out of the blue. 25 yarder apparently.

Decent game. Feyenoord had some good passing, spreading the ball well and were unlucky to lose. Draw would have been fair.

Aaron Lewis, Keston Davies & Alex Samuel stood out tonight and played very well.

What was interesting about the lineup? Aren't half the normal team with their national u21s?

Yes - you're right - my mistake - I had forgotten that they are still away.

I had thought that the absence of some regulars may indicate something about the first team squad but I was being stupid.

When you look at the write up on the Official swans site those Feyenoord players have a great deal of experience between them and they fielded 5 first team players.

Noticed Mawson didin't play in this one.

It was the absence of Mawson and Oli McB that I found interesting until jasper pointed out about international duty.

Although thinking about it again - does Mawson actually play with England at any level?

Funny, Iwas going to ask exactly the same question, as I have no idea.
I have watched England's youth play quite a bit, but don't remember his name coming up.
According to Wiki he hasn't played for them.

I wonder what the Yanks will make of the investment made in our Academy to date vs the number of first team players produced ?

Is it that bad really? Goes without saying a lot of them aren't going to make it

Barring a couple of exceptions I don't think we're doing much better or worse than the majority in the PL
