Brentford match 28/10 18:16 - Sep 6 with 15761 viewsbrydesantis

Hi there, I am an American football fan and making the trip over the pond in a little over a month. I must confess I am a Spurs supporter, however I have always had a soft spot for QPR and as luck would have it there is a home match on Friday the 28th at Loftus Road that i will be able to attend.

Anyways, I have registered on the official ticket site but obviously will have to hope tickets for the Brentford match go on general sale. Is there a chance of that? I am aware Brentford is a local rival, so was wondering if that would be an issue with tickets. If it does sell out can you get tickets on stubhub? I know Tottenham has that option (albeit you pay through the nose)

Also, If any of you could be so kind as to suggest a pub that would be a good place to get a few pints before the match and a bit of an atmosphere? Thanks in advance and wish you lot all the best this season, hope you get back up to the Premier League. Cheers, bryan

SAR Block B....my usual haunt when in town. Cheerful bunch around ya, close to away fans, steepish steps, can't see near touch line, depending where you're sitting a roundabout route to the toilets, little space on the concourse.....love the place.

Thanks for the info! I have seats 77&78 which I believe are on aisle. (It's hard to tell for sure on interactive map) Closest seats to C Block. Do they sell beer inside the ground?

It's good in B Block, you can see the whites of the enemy's eye, or in this case the whites of the Brentford massive's zits.

A magnificent football club, the love of our lives, finding a way to finally have its day in the sun.

Its actually not too bad in A Block depending how high up you are Row wise so maybe B is similar
If your lucky you'll get a seat where your knees go over the seat in front of you so not too uncomfortable.
Anyone who thinks we don't need a new stadium is either into self harm or a Hobbit.

I'm giving this one swerve and happy to finish work, drive home and watch it on the flat screen with a glass of claret.

Carlsberg is a delicacy compared to the piss water we are forced to drink at american sporting events

You may not be so keen on the Carlsberg, if you are not already aware that you can't drink it within a view of the pitch. You are forced to 'neck it' at half time in the concourse and I think there is something about last orders before the match at kick off -10 minutes.

I am in B block seats 77 & 78 and I can confirm that they are on the aisle just next to the platinum area, good view of the pitch just to the right of the halfway line, great atmosphere as you are just close enough to the away supporters to make yourself heard. Hope you enjoy the game. U R'SSS.

I was at a Twins game in the summer and they had about 15 local MN craft beers available and a whole Goose Island bar - I was well happy with that selection. Had a choice of a few decent craft beers at Fenway a few years ago too...most impressed, but we ended up in the fu cking Budweiser section for the views and had to drink that sh it for the last couple of hours...urgh.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

Yeah we have a pretty good selection of craft beers at our stadiums in Cleveland as well. Usually because of the wait time though, I just buy them from the vendors walking around and they only offer Budweiser and Miller Light types..

I am from North West London but occasionally venture to the more expensive parts of London. Saw you said you were staying in Kensington. Visit the Churchill Arms Pub , Kensington Church Street, Fullers Pub so you can get London pride and real beer there. Also you can walk up to Notting Hill and see the lovely though more gentrified Portobello Road market.

The way the dollar's going against the pound, you might be able to buy a whole pub by the day of the game

Awesome, thanks for the advice. Is that Fuller's pub where they actually brew London Pride? That is one of my favorite beers, the pub I go to watch football has it on tap. You know how long it takes approximately to get from Kensington to Loftus Road area? Just want to make sure I leave enough time to have a few pints from one of the local pubs and visit the R's store.

HAHA It is crazy. I remember just a few years ago it was almost $1.75 to £1. I just went to bank yesterday to sort out money for the trip and got an exchange rate under $1.30. I guess I picked a good time to make the trip that's for sure

I chose the Cleveland Browns as my NFL team probably because they never did anything which kinda drew me like a magnet to a team similar to Qpr in expectations terms
Go woof woof or whatever they say in the pound

Notice I used the kinda word, I was expecting a p,attic toy inside

captains fantastic

$9 + Tip for a cold bud light in the aluminium bottle at M &T bank stadium but they bring the beers to you in your seat, I thought it was just baseball that did that.

I love your crappy weak beers especially the light ones but I've noticed in bars now you're all massively into craft beers. The Ravens fan podcast I listen too, the guys are always going on about pumpkin beers?, wtf

Extremely wide range of beers available in the US. The quality, just like the U.K. varies but, it's the bloody flavours that get me. Gadzooks(threw that in for viewing US audience), I want beer not some friggin drink manufactured for girls wedding showers! Actually, now I think about it, quite a few of the small brewers produce good quality products ruined by being overly hoppy. OK for the odd pint but the taste becomes oppressive after two or three.
