Agree that Ayew's goals were critical last year but if he does go then I'm sure we will find another striker that can get us 12 goals playing in front of Gylfi.

Gylfi and Ayew didn't play well for us at the same times last season. Ayew was on fire when we were playing really awful football under Monk, and Gylfi was taking a lot of stick on here.
Gylfi came good after Guidolin arrived (and Shelvey fcked off), and between then and the last few games Ayew didn't contribute a huge amount.
Finding someone who can play with Gylfi will make all the difference. | | | |

Agree with this. Until he was played as the main striker, Ayew tended to get in Gylfi's way too much which affected both of them.
If we can bring in a striker who can build the kind of relationship with Gylfi that Bony had, that would be fantastic. | | | |

You're right of course. Ayew lessons Gylfi's impact and generally causes confusion across the front line. With Gylfi and our wingers we don't need a particularly mobile striker, we need a powerhouse. | |
