Well the table doesnt lie as they say. But then again Leicester are currently the best team in the country so maybe the table is telling a few porkies.
I think its fair to say the same Everton team that convincingly took Saints to the cleaners at the start of the season wont be the same that will line up against Saints on Saturday, even if the personnel isnt too disimilar.
There is something massively wrong at the moment with Everton. Player for player, I think Everton have a better strongest starting XI than Saints but they have been all over the shop since about November with the occasional brilliance undone by the exceptionally comedy like performance.
I think if you swapped Martinez for Koeman, or even Moyes with this squad you would see a world of difference. | | | |

Really out of your back 5 the only one I would take would be Coleman. Midfield McCarthy and Barkley, up front Lukaku but that's it. Baines, Barry and Lennon are pasted it. stones is vastly over rated. | |

Strangely enough Coleman has had a really poor season. His game used to be based on bombing forward knowing that the centre halves would cover. But with Stones being built up to be a cross between Beckenbauer and Baresi and given the licence to do what he wants, Coleman has been grim. | | | |

Not sure about that toffee.
Forster,Van dijk,Fonte,Bertrand,Wanyama,Pelle and Mane would get in many prem teams IMO . I'd take Lukaku,Stones and Barkley that's about it. | |

Good post. The only thing I'll say is about the first paragraph. Leicester have lost 3 all season, beaten Spurs and man city away, and are 7 clear. They are the best team so far, and deserve it.

Everton were the best team I have seen here at the beginning of the season and well deserved their win. But yet again Saints had a new squad and the team were not jelling and were very inconsistent.
It is a mystery to me why Everton have folded so badly this season, but I think that your players though undoubtably talented, are not up for tough games and need incentive to play up, I.E. cup games.
That being said, Saints are going to have a tough game, but if we play as well as we did against Leicester I cannot see Everton defence keeping us out, especially as most of your team will have their mind on the cup. | |

As most know, I live in the area and know quite a few Evertonians.
They are not looking forward to this. I mentioned the fact that theirs has rarely been a happy hunting ground for us, but they insist that right now, they're shit, we'll probably beat them and that the atmosphere is likely to be toxic at Goodison.
