The official account claims it was heavily damaged on the south side and fires started on multiple floors. The sprinkler system was also knocked out. This was enough to cause it to collapse.
I understand why people find it curious. I've no idea myself, though I do not think any of the buildings were deliberately destroyed as part of some nefarious plot carried out by the US Govt.

That must have been very frightening indeed. I wish you had never had to experience those days and live subsequently with the knowledge of the heightened risk in your daily life.
My opposition to Islam, and subsequently my deeper than average interest in it, began during the Salman Rushdie affair. I had just started Comprehensive school and had an unusual interest in current affairs for my age. I couldn't get my head around the mentality behind Rushdie's fatwa and have sought to get a deeper understanding of the religion ever since. I was a young man when first 9/11 and then 7/7 happened. Although I had read the Koran and read extensively around the subject of Islamic extremism I was still shocked to see it played out for real. As a husband and father now it angers me that these scumbags could possibly murder my wife (e.g. on a business trip to London) or either of my children in the future and I am clean out of patience for avoiding dealing with it in the name of tolerance.
Sounds like we're about the same age mate. And similarly after 7/7 I took almost an obsessive interest in Islam. I haven't disagreed with anything you've written and found it interesting, but then I may be guilty of my own confirmation bias and am open enough to admit that.
What i do believe though, is that this "minority" of Muslims who spoil it for the rest, is fairly significant if you take into account the opinions of those who share their faith. The amount of support or refusal to acknowledge that fellow Muslims would be capable of such atrocities is truly worrying. That's just my take from working on Edgware Road for 2 years between 2004-2006. I haven't seen or heard anything to suggest that much has happened to improve matters. Speaking to mates who work in CT it's to the contrary.

The 'official account' is also full of holes. A building as sturdy as that would not collapse due to a fire but believe what you will because no government has ever lied to us ever have they?
I was just stating what the official account was as Bony claimed nothing hit Building 7. Something did hit Building 7.
I have no idea myself if what they say happened is enough to bring a building like that down. I know f*ck all about structural engineering. I'm guessing you don't either but I could be wrong.
Yes governments lie to us, but I don't believe the US government committed 9/11. The theories people put forward would entail many thousands of people being involved.
And listen to the theories they propose. Controlled demolition. Nanothermite. Holograms. Missiles. Pilotless airliners.
I don't think any of it is credible at all.

I'm not buying into the thermite theory or the pilotless aircraft, but I firmly believe that it was not just the planes that brought them down. The official account defies the laws of physics.
The US gov had a part to play in this, they knew it was coming and they let it happen. They had the pilots under surveillance yet did nothing.
I am also very curious at how these rookie pilots managed to manoeuvre a commercial aircraft with expert precision and accuracy through a built up city and hit their target.
Too many things are not adding up for me.
You say thousands - I think it is more in the hundreds and money talks. Speak out and it's bye bye.
We still don't know, despite 50 years of speculation, who shot JFK. Many people now dead did and a few still alive do.
"Official" estimates around 50,000 employees on the payroll of the NSA. Many reckon the figure is at least 10 times that. That's a lot of people sworn to secrecy. A nation within a nation.
Some of the things the CIA have got up to since WW2 are jaw dropping.
I wouldn't put anything past the dark recesses of the US Govt. They are capable of anything and to suggest otherwise is naïve. Just my opinion of course, but then I don't believe anything printed in what passes for newspapers these days, I think it's all a crock of sh/t and propaganda. We are but ants to be p/ssed on.

JFK was killed by the CIA for one of two reasons either because it was well documented that JFK wanted to break it up or that JFK had demanded the files on UFO activity something that the CIA said they would not hand over at any cost. The "black umbrella man" seen in the video exactly were the shot came from was the killer, why would he have an overcoat and umbrella on such a glorious day? Remember LHO was never tried for the assasination and was killed 2 days before his court appearance, very convenient indeed.

The plot thickens. Many people also believe you can see the driver turning around with a handgun. So he's been shot at by Oswald in the book depository, the drivers had a pop, the guy with the umbrella has had a go at him too, and the fella up the Gnoll. It really wasn't his day, he was getting shot at from all angles.
The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
