Tories & cold feet over the tidal lagoon 16:07 - Jan 13 with 4700 views | acejack3065 | The tories were all for the lagoon pre election. Now that they've got what they wanted out of us in compliance and votes it appears they don't want to stump up the cash. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/cost-swanseas-1bn-tidal-lagoon-1072 Its only last month they were telling those concerned to sit down and shut up. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-35105408 They don't have a problem fracking under national parks to get energy but when it comes to investing in a long term project it appears that they don't fancy it. I for one will be writing to both Edwina Hart and Byron Davies for an explaination as to why an obvious no brainer such as the lagoon is being backed away from. Either way I bet Cardiff get the one that they are asking for. [Post edited 13 Jan 2016 16:09]

Tories & cold feet over the tidal lagoon on 17:02 - Jan 13 with 4648 views | trampie | Plaid Cymru have apparently put up a petition on change.org to ensure the Swansea tidal lagoon go's ahead, the petition seems to be fronted by a Swansea GP who is standing for Plaid in Swansea West in the up coming Assembly elections.

Tories & cold feet over the tidal lagoon on 13:56 - Jan 21 with 4299 views | Private_Partz | I think you right on that one. The Cardiff Lagoon will be done 'for the good of Wales'. True it is not the best time to build when oil and therefore energy prices are low but this will change so it makes sense to go ahead. With regards to the Tories it is 'before election comments v after'. All promise and no action is their way.

Tories & cold feet over the tidal lagoon on 14:38 - Jan 21 with 4254 views | Dyfnant | If an area/government pioneers this technology, which we would be doing via the ridiculous subsidy then we should reap the financial benefits if it proves effective and is taken up else where. The company involved has said future builds will be cheaper when they should subsidise the initial one

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Tories & cold feet over the tidal lagoon on 15:35 - Jan 21 with 4209 views | Mrgrumpy | The is nothing new about this technology France had had a tidal power station for 50 years Canada has had one for over 30 year s The only difference with the tidal lagoon is that the sea wall would be longer, seawalls are ancient technology. Coincidently France and Canada in that time have only built one each despite plans to build more ( I wonder why?) The only people who will benefit from this scheme are the developers who will sell at the first opportunity. Cardiff tidal lagoon will never be built, apart from the much higher environmental protection in that area, it is only being touted to get the subsidiary for Swansea
