Trying to keep things in perspective! 20:29 - Nov 14 with 5751 viewssuffolkdale

Watching the game from afar we were beaten by a better team on the day. Given some of the personnel in their team and on their bench not really surprising so why the rants and over reaction? Given our resources and injuries Keith Hill works wonders and we have to consistently over perform to compete at this level.
Am l an armchair fan? No I was at Southend last week and man for man we were as good if not better than their team. As to my comments on the manager, I have been watching the Dale for 55 years and without a shadow of a doubt Keith Hill is the best manager we have ever had.
Compared to many other clubs we have a fantastic Chairman, Board of Directors, management team and youth set up and even today the team kept on trying to do the right things despite not getting many breaks.
I am as passionate as any fan who posts on here, but I am realistic and when things are not quite working out ( we did of course beat Swindon 3-1 last week!) we need to be positive and supportive not turn in on ourselves and the team/ management. Deep breaths and move on!

I thought personally Henderson looked bright when he came on against Wigan, and McDermott looked very sharp with some clever touches. Hopefully they'll both start at Donny with Allen coming back into the frame . Although not a recent happy hunting ground there's certainly nothing to fear going to Doncaster - time to turn this round I think.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10
Poll: Are fans more annoyed losing or not playing Henderson centre forward?

I agree with you, but isn't that combination of factors the reason why there is little point getting blindly stuck in to a team like Wigan?
We are in a bind with injuries and half- fit players, a red card to a key player for getting too excited about a local derby would be stupid if it prevented us from playing well against weaker opposition.
We are currently unbeaten by anybody below 10th place ( http://www.statto.com/football/teams/rochdale), our record against the top teams in the division over this and the last two seasons is dire- even in our last promotion season, we didn't beat anyone placed above 8th- but I don't think this is coincidence there are some games where the odds of a favourable result are better than others , the professional sportsman will always want to make sure he wins the winnable games , putting those games at risk by getting over excited about games you are less likely to win is for teams with large available squads and/ or bags of cash

A draw against Wigan would have been a creditable result and with a bit of luck we might have got one, if a denied penalty and an offside header had been given differently a 1-1 would have been a good days work. Beating Doncaster next week is more important though in the grand scheme of things.

Good post 49.
Talking of stattos, did we ever replace that fella who left us to join New York Cosmos / City?
Is it a case of his replacement struggling to get up to speed?

I had to check your recent results, when I'd done reading this forum yesterday. I expected to see you'd lost 8 in a row or something....

We're on our worst ever run and I haven't read the kind of misery that was on here at the weekend, on our forum.

Turns out you've lost one league game in the time we've lost eight.

It’s because Whitey we have some posters who only turn up and post when they have something to complain about! A right bunch of drama queens.

with three points for a win its no longer about how many you lose but how many you fail to win. You can be relegated in an unbeaten season.

I get that. But we've lost 11 of 17 games pal, and are second bottom, the only team below us have already beaten us at home.

I'd love a few nil nil draws..
