This is after all the Guardian bloggers, Independent Facebookers, Tumblr-ites, Twitter progressives and Social Justice Warriors have taken a refugee into their home as they've promised?

I'm quite positive towards giving people refugee status, helping the worlds vulnerable is the correct thing to do, but when a borough has job creation rates of -12% you don't place lots of cheap labour there without significant investment. We all know there will be no such investment. I don't buy the cheaper rent rubbish too. Private landlords who already charge well over the odds and will put the rents up because they can.

It would be interesting to find out how much money do the council get to look after the 1000 or so in the town and how many jobs will they create.

The Councils will receive a portion of the money that has been re-allocated from the foreign aid budget for year one but what happens when, and it will, that money disappears for year 2 onwards or is cut. Where does that leave the Council?

Don't lump all the south east together. Dover and Folkestone are full of immigrants. Thanet has its fair share plus rubbish from London. There are blocks of flats in Thanet owned by London boroughs to house problem families. If the south east does take 333 I know where they will end up and it will not be near the affluent areas. Not all the south east is posh. Anyway we are moving so it will not be our problem!

This bit of text was posted from the story in the link-:

Express.co.uk has examined where Britain's 30,000 refugees are currently living, to show where the latest asylum seekers are likely to end up.

By examining the proportion of refugees claiming financial support in every council area in Britain between January and March of this year, we have calculated how many people would be housed in each local authority if the same allocation system was used.

So actually it's just the Express stirring it up with a bit of scaremongering.
