I think I would go

1. Le Tiss
2. Peach
3. Lambert

I would have peach above Lambert in that he did it under more pressure in the FA Cup semi final and at Luton in the promotion season

That's an awful question to ask.

The young'uns won't remember Peach , he was a defender.

Ricky never missed

Matt scored the most.

Tough one but the only player who never made me nervous when taking one was SRL.
I was never nervous that it was MLT taking it but that it was a pen and pens get missed.

I heard a voice in the noise pollution!

.......even Steven Davis is 100% from the spot !!!

SRL never missed for us and as he smashed em, you always knew he would score.

MLT (met him on Sunday after the game) was a placer, but I was always confident, even though I saw his only miss, plus a few others that keepers got a hand to, but couldn't keep out. Seem to remember a few pens v Ian Walker at Spurs in the same season and it was almost a game of Chess between the 2.

Beats - again never missed and had a couple of great scoring seasons including a number of spot kicks - think Pahars took a couple whilst Beats was the main taker though !!

Ruddock for his stomp, after his late pen saw off Newcastle 1-0 after Rod had gone over rather easily to say the least. That win ended a massive run of games without a win and I think I ended up half way down the Milton terrace and lost my programme !!

Saw Peach a few times but not taking a pen.

Colin of the Saints notched a few too !!

I saw MLT miss a penalty at Elland road against Bruce in the warm up. Ricky for me

Le Tiss
SRL
Beattie

Peach was before my time. We really have had some excellent penalty takers over the years. Tadic against Burnley was an anomaly, as other than that I can't remember one we've missed in recent memory.

Begs a good question K , who was , apart from Tadic our last Pen miss ?

Ricky 30 odd , must be back in 200?

Top flight? Before Tadic it was Magilton I think (vs west ham I think in a 3-1 win, or Sheffield weds)

In recent years wotton missed a couple (didn't we miss 2 in a 3-0 home loss to Watford?)

Surman also missed away vs Doncaster if my memory serves me right. I think we won 2-0

Nothing to separate Le Tissier, Peach and Lambert in my opinion. All of them had first class records.

Lambert against WBA away though the season before last...... what a penalty! Even Ben Foster admitted he knew exactly where it was going but he would never have got to it.

Le Tissier was easily the best for all the years he spent with us. But, Shearer scored more top flight penalties than any other player in modern history.

David Peach would get nowhere near my top 5 and I saw most of the games he played for Saints. He ranks 105th= with a grand total of 7 top flight penalties.
