Hateful Eight is excellent - it'll take a few views to pick up all the cues in it but contains some excellent performances. The Morricone score is outstanding.
Tom Hardy is excellent in The Revenant too. It'll be interesting to see if DiCaprio gets an Oscar nomination for it; I wouldn't be surprised if Hardy is nominated too. Cinematography is excellent too.
There's an early scene of an attack on a camp that looks like one shot - very neatly done and sets the film off at a good pace. It is, however, a bit flabby in the second third and could have benefited from more skilful editing; it's a little over 2 and a half hours.
I had a good old search for a decent French movie site - surprisingly hard to find.
Years ago, plenty of French movies were released in UK cinemas (anyone remember, for example, the Jean De Florette trilogy, or Betty Blue ?). Now, even in the West End of London, French movies are rarer than the proverbial hen's teeth.
I eventually found a decent source of cinema du France in a slightly surprising place : Amazon Digital Video (including many on the Prime service, if you've paid your £79). Nothing else came close to what was available there.

Saw so many films but only went to the cinema twice. Both films were dogshit.
Mad Max - shite. Two hours of cars bouncing off a truck in the desert. Every scene looked like every other scene. Exhausting and dull.
Terminator 5 - shite. Good start, stupid middle, boring end.

For people that like movies there's a series called The Director's Chair where director Robert Rodriguez interviews other directors like John Carpenter, Tarantino, George Miller, Coppola etc. Learn't quite a few interesting things on it.

Anyone see Goodnight Mommy? (Austrian movie; original title is "I See I See".) That film messed me up for a few days and I respect the film for making such an impact on this desensitized guy.

Watched Southpaw. Boxing film so you know what you are getting. Forest Whittaker is always great though.
