I wasn't allowed any military toys or guns. As a concession I did get an action man but he had to wear non combats. My Nan knitted a pink jumpsuit for him. The big kids threw him in a puddle and set fire to him. Thank god for Ken and Barbie.

1. Anything to do with Gerry Anderson shows e.g. Dinky toys (Captain Scarlet especially) or those bigger plastic Thunderbirds toys.
2. Action Man - especially frogman, deep sea diver, commando and even footballer (I had Chelsea and West Ham kits!).
3. "Big League" football game - similar to Subbuteo (with green cloth etc) but players were bigger and you had to draw spring-loaded leg back to kick the ball. You had to paint the two teams yourself so I did Chelsea v Liverpool (red and white stripes were far too tricky!) "Striker" was good too - at least one of my mates had that. | | | |

Got this when I was twelve, state of the art back then, Mitchell 600AP
Was given one of these when I was fourteen. My father bought it for himself but lacked the bottle , I used it many times in trials.
When I was Sixteen I bought myself one of these with my football pools round money.
