Athletico have a buy back clause of just over £1M. So if he would now claim a much higher price than that originally agreed this is the line you would expect them to take. Then it leaves us still free to offer what WE consider him to be worth.
Always bear in mind the possibility of a cheaper similarly talented player lurking in our sight. | |

I reckon there's a good chance Toby will stay with us. He seems like a good, honest lad - not a Charlie big bollix. He's loved his time at Saints and will no doubt have discussions with Atletico where his future lays. One thing's for sure - he's as good as guaranteed to play every week with us - something his parent club can't seem to offer him.
Also ; why would he go to Spurs? From reading between the lines in his (brief) interviews, he's basically saying - as I read it - he'd love to join us permanently if Atletico allow him to... but if we don't want him (as if!), he'd be more than happy to stay in the Premier League. Spurs can't offer him any more than we can on the football side of things, and I would imagine both us & Spurs would pay the same wages for his services.
I have a good feeling about Toby joining us permanently. Hope I'm right. Guess we will find out sooner rather than later as Toby himself stated that he wants his future sorted out ASAP.

I also read this morning that Liverpool and Spurs are also chasing Trippier for 3.5 mill. Probably usual speculation as that sounds a bit too cheap but I guess where we are means we will come up against those two clubs for players more and more. | | | |

Really can't see us being in for him, we have Demichelis, Mangala plus Rekik and Denayer coming back off loans to PSV Eindhoven and Celtic respectively, that play in this position. | |

Schneiderlin? I think he is a very good player, I'd have him over Fernando every time.
