Good news about Cubero 11:34 - Apr 3 with 3271 viewsOrioltwins

Contract extension taken up - we have 3/4 players who could do well at League One level - Cubero, O'Hara, Madine and Orlandi - get them in place and you have a starting position.

Instantly dismissed on other forums as a Season Ticket incentive but if we would have bought some random Conference player it would have been dismissed as Clark joining the O's in killing the club - just can't win!

Good news on the face of it but I will be surprised if he's still with us at the end of August. Let's see.

Still don't think he'll play next season at Bloomfield Road - him and Clark don't seem to have the best relationship.

The acid test will be if he sets foot on the pitch next season. The we will know Clark has got his way and it isn't hype

As above, excellent news if he stays and plays.

Cubero has certainly been a good signing by Mr Riga.

How many matches has he played this season?

Treatment for injury carried out in Costa Rica.

How many weeks of the season has Cubero actually been in the North West?

Osbourne wonders.

"Sick note"

Harsh, but true.

Osbourne says : infact, Osbourne says :

"Fairy legs" wouldn't last even one game in Division 1.

Nothing on his Twitter or Facebook page - be interesting to hear that first interview with him and what he feels about the future. As many have said, it's easy enough to activate the contract extension but it's whether the player is willing to stay and play that is the crucial thing.

As can be the case the mighty Osbourne is mis guided, Give Cubero a half decent surface and he will float through the 1st Division. Best player to don a Pool shirt for 2 plus seasons. Draw last week ,leadin Bolton this.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Lets remember, Cubero is probably on a substantial retainer.

2014-15 season : League Appearances 4, Substitute 2, Goals 0, Yellow Cards 1.

"Mighty Osbourne."

Osbourne doesn't mind the lampooning, but it is highly unlikely that Cubero will be running out onto the Bloomfield Road Turf 2015-16.

Despite what is being said.

He did play well against Leeds, got in Clarke's way for the Leeds goal though. He also needs to take a "shooting lesson" from Osbourne. His miss today in the last 5 minutes was a shocker.

Could he stay?

seasider13,

Osbourne here,

Osbourne was surprised by your response.

The appearance statistics do not lie though, these are not subjective statistics, they are objective statistics, let Osbourne repeat them :

2014-15 season : League Appearances 4, Substitute Appearances 2, Goals 0, Yellow Cards 1.

Osbourne wonders why in the second half of the season, if Cubero was fit, did Clark not select him to play?

If you have been following this board, which you have, you will of realised via Osbourne's posts that Osbourne has been very keen to avoid the drop to Division 1. The last 14 games of the season have seen 2 points secured so far. The draw v Leeds and the draw v Bolton yesterday. How many of these matches has Cubero played in? Pool fans have been led to believe that Cubero was fit and available.

As Pool fans have now seen, Cubero is a good player. So, when Pool were in desperate need of points, why did he not play?

"Mighty Osbourne" now "Osbourne you nutter." Osbourne doesn't mind constructive lampooning, but something doesn't add up here.

Osbourne is very disappointed that Pool, certainly in the last 14 matches of the season, have not put up a better attempt to stay up than they have.

If Cubero is as good as he appears to be, then why did he not play? It is not Osbourne who is the "nutter." Osbourne is simply asking questions and handing out objective statistics.

As a rider to this, even at this stage, wins against Leeds and Bolton were essential. If Rotherham beat Brighton at home on Easter Monday, Pool are gone. Cubero got in Peter Clarke's way for the Leeds goal and his miss yesterday at Bolton in the last 5 minutes was shocking. Osbourne would of scored that one yesterday himself.

Osbourne was after Champioship survival 2014-15. All this talk of planning for next season is nonsense, with 14 games to go Pool had a real "fighting chance" of survival. They have made a mess of it. Tomorrow never comes.
